| teapots versus toys? Are the larger yorkies just as active and fast as the smaller ones? Or does their weight slow them down? Just wondering...as mine is 3.8 at 14 weeks of age. I suspect she'll be a teapot if she continues to gain a lb a month.

| Oh, I don't think she'll be slowed down for one minute. |

| Jackson goes between 15-16lbs and he is SUPER agile. Of course it doesn't slow him down! He keeps up w/ the Jack Russells and even an Italian Greyhound once. He's fast when he wants to be.

| Smokey is 15 lbs and is seriously one of the fastest dogs I've ever seen. He's like a shot of a cannon. We took both of the dogs to this off leash area and there was probably about 100 or so dogs there. Smokey started zooming all around and there were a bunch of dogs trying to play chase with him... and they all gave up because he was so fast. They'd start chasing, then just stop because they couldn't keep up. When we had our fenced in backyard and let both of the dogs outside, Smokey could run the backyard three times and Chip was still circling around it for the first time. Chip is about 1/2 of Smokey's size and about 7 lbs.

| Thats about how much Capone weighed at that age and he's pretty slender, just a bigger build. When he was a puppy I thought he would be fat because he was so pudgy, but he's fast and playful.

| Size and weight don't have anything to do with activity level... at least not in this house! We have 3 dogs, 5 lb yorkie mix, 18 lb yorkie mix, and 45 lb bulldog mix. And they are all crazy hyper! The larger yorkie has slowed down some, but only because shes 7 now. When she was younger she would get the zoomies all the time and run around like she was loco!

| You have to remember that even if she was to be a teapot, it doesn't mean that you'll have a 15 lb yorkie with the body frame of a 6 lb one. It's proportionate, you'll have a 15 lb dog with the body frame of a 15 lb dog. The muscles will be adequate for the body type. Energy level does change with personality. Mellow dogs are much calmer, like my dog. that doesn't mean he doesn't have the capability of running around like a mad man. He just chooses when and where.

| Well, that makes me feel better. I thought all the heavier yorkies still had toy yorkie bodies.

| My neighbour told me the funny tale of a friend who bought a little teacup Yorkie to keep their beagle company. They ended up with a coffee pot yorkie instead. Just remember, smaller dogs have greater health issues, there really isn't such a thing as a teacup Yorkie. The standard for a Yorkie, from what I researched prior to getting Teegy, can range from 5-7 pounds, but also like my friends Murphy can be a larger variety, he's around 12 pounds. Murphy and Teegy played for hours together, it was like a massive moving furball. Yorkies have the best personalities I've ever seen in a dog and carry a lot of humanlike behaviours. Which I guess is why folks like to put them in clothes and prams. I am the happiest person in the world. This morning Teegy tried to wake my with the usual squeak and licking of the eyeballs. When I grumbled and rolled over he snuck up behind my pillow and pounced on my head, hahahaha. |

| Bruce is a teapot for sure and he has some tiny little yorks in his class at daycare and believe me he is just as active and is actually about 3 times faster than all of them.
