[QUOTE=OwnedByJezebel;... My previous Yorkie would put her head & neck on the ground, with hind legs still fully up and butt in the air, then push with her back legs to move her body forward and rub her throat against the ground to get the scent of "whatever it was" all over her throat.....[/QUOTE]
That is exactly the method that my Yorkies use, they LOVE to get the smelly junk on their muzzle. I try to see if they are spending too much time in one spot (more than what is needed to check out a potential pee or poop spot), and if so, I tell them to come. THey usually dont listen no matter how many zillions of walks we go on, so then its a quick yank on the leash. There is no way I am risking them coming home with that skunky musky stench on their muzzle. And when they do get into a mess, I clean it with anti-bacterial soap all over their muzzle. I am carful to rinse it thoroughly so they cant like the soap off and get sick.
Our previous YOrkie who passed away used to LOVE to kill crickets in our basement (he was a great Yorkie cricket hunter), and if you did not take the cricket away soon enough, he would wiggle his back on it too... very disgusting but easy to prevent when we learned to watch for it. |
