We got her on Saturday night and I have spent so much time with her this weekend. I walked her 5 times yesterday and she even slept in my bed last night (something I said I would NEVER do). But I had to go to work this morning and I almost cried when I left because she was crying. She's been following me around all weekend and seems so attached to me after only 2 days. I feel like such a bad person for leaving her. Please tell me I'm not the worst person in the world.

You're not a bad person at all! They can tug at your heartstrings though! Will you be able to go home and take her outside at lunchtime everyday? That will help if you can. You may also think about getting another Yorkie to keep her company!

Believe it or not, two are easier than one!

Of course you are not a bad person. It is sometimes necessary to leave them and it is always so hard. I am so very fortunate that I rarely have to make it, but since I joined a bowling league I have had to do it every other week. I just make sure he is without a collar and in a secure place with food and water and his toys. They will get used to the situation, but it is not without breaking your heart and lots of worry till they do!

You are not a bad mom!! Fact of life is people have to work..I would try leaving the baby often even when you do not have to work..I would also get an Xpen and use it to keep the baby safe. I love them and use them all the time..
BTW, congrats on your new baby. Your life will never be the same..

You sound just like me. I hate leaving my baby for even an hour. I have spent most of my life dedicated to her. i even switched to work nights so that she always had someone home with her. But you know what --- I think they like there alone time - gives them freedom and plenty of sleep. Plus every time you come home - they are just so excited to see you - that's just the best feeling.

I totally agree, My boyfriend and I both work full time jobs, and usually one of us is away for at least eight hours during the workdays. I work weekends too, but My boyfriend doesn't ( salary job) so on the weekends he gets to stay with daddy. whenever I leave during the week though I blow him kisses as I walk away. He likes to stare out the kitchen window and watch me leave. It does break my heart, but I've got to work if he wants to eat.

Well, you'd be a bad person if you quit your job to stay home and then holed up with your dog in your house or apartment while the two of you slowly starved to death. Then we'd have to call the ASPCA on you. But for just going to work, I think we -- even the Yorkie babies -- can all forgive that provided you spend some of that hard earned dough on Yorkie stuff.

I got my baby 2 1/2 weeks ago and I have been taking her to work with me everday (I work for my mom in a small company) but this morning I left her home by herself because she needs to get used to it I feel the same way you do she was crying when I left but we are not bad people because of it. They probably like alone time just like we do.

My hubby laughs at me but I think it works, I personally have never had a problem with Gizmo crying when I leave, (thank god) my problem on the other hand is he wants to tag along to drive mom to work ha haa. Anyhoo... I leave the disney channel on for him and set up his favorite spot with his blankey and toys with a bright light on. Believe it or not he loves to sit or lay there and watch the wiggles and dora and all that other stuff. You may want to try that. I did it because my neighborhood is soooooo quiet that way he can hear voices and doesn't feel alone. Hope this works for you!!

I am right tghere woth you today. I almost called in sick to work so that Dollar didnt have to stay alone. i had to put him in the Kitchen and baby gate him in . he hated it...he was crying and trying to jump out. it was so sad. Today is his first day alone and I am so worried about him. i am afraid that he will not eat and get sick. i just dont know what to do???
