Yorkie Yakker | ![]() Start as soon a possible! My Zoey is my first yorkie so I made the mistake of waiting and now she fights with me. She won't keep a bow in her hair but she "allows" me to put a small hair tie in! Call him over everyday, as many times as you can throughout the day, and tell him "fix hair" and comb him and play with his hair on his head. Slowly introduce a bow, clip or tie. Every time Zoey and mommy "fix hair" it gets easier and easier! good luck!!!!!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | ![]() Joey's breeder sent him home in a little bow at 12 weeks, but my first attempts were horrible, and it was months later before I could do it. This website has some great tips on using a double band method. Casual Way to Put Dog Bows In You scoop hair low on the forehead, and put a band around that then put a bow around the band. Next you scoop up the hair behind, and place a band around the whole thing, so bow is locked into place and won't move around. Also, baby bows at first not show type bows, they are lighter and they don't bother them as much. Baby bows are a cinch to make also, just cross a piece of ribbon and loop a small band around it, pulling one side of the band through the middle of the other side. No sewing is involved.

| ![]() We have been putting bows in since we got her she is 4 months old. We give her treats while we are doing and she loves it. Keeping it in is another story but it is getting longer each time. Never leave the dog along with the the hair bow in as it could come out and they could chew it. |

| ![]() As soon as possible, so he can get used to it. Try a little elastic band at first...it's harder for them to get out.

It's a small elastic band that I found for babies.

| ![]() I started putting bows in my Yorkie puppy's hair from the moment we brought her home at 11+ weeks. I would never allow a puppy to have a bow in their hair and leave them unattended. They could get it out and chew it. |
