OOPS - I'm not used to using lbs - we use kilos in Denmar. A real yorkie is of course between 3 and 6 lbs :)

This is what a Silky Terrier is Basically the only difference between a Silky and a Yorkie is that Silky's coats don't keep growing and they are built a bit more solidly. This breed too, is non shedding. Silky's are considered a "Toy Breed" and there snouts are bigger and longer.
PERFECTLY Said - She's right - They are 2 different breeds - and after seeing your picture .....you seem to have a yorkie to me. Yorkies come in ALL sizes and there are lots of differences if you see them side by side.

There's nothing fake about little Stewie! He's ALL Yorkie and the most adorable little boy ever! He could be 3 lbs or 15 lbs and he'd still be a cutie pie to me! Kristy you have one of the cutest little boys ever.

Well if yours is fake then I have a 6.5lb impersonator at home too. She is really good because she has had me fooled for almost a year. :p

Exactly, those standards are so stupid. I can see why they must be kept with showdogs, but come on - this is the real world. Just like your love wouldn't change if your man was very tall, you shouldn't love your yorkie less because he is bigger than most. There's just more to hug and kiss!

Stomper was 3.3 pounds at 8 weeks and is now 15 pounds! He is massive, but I think he too is a pure breed. He is just HUGE! Check out the pictures I have posted of him. I've attached a more recent one below. He is big and beautiful.

She looks like a yorkie to me. She's beautiful. Our son's family has a male yorkie that finally stopped growing at 8#. But, he's beautiful for a family pet. They have 2 daughters and he's a very active part of the family. Much safer at 8# than he would be at 4 or 5#. Sometimes they just reach back and grab a size gene from a grandparent - just like our human kids. :D

I saw your previous post and thought...UH OH! No, we were talking about the Continental Kennel Club. Their rules are not very strict at all and have been known to register...yorkiepoos, etc.

Canadian Kennel Club is just as strict as the AKC. :thumbup:
