| Star, have you ever thought that maybe it's YOU and not the dogs? of course one is going to bark for food when you are favoring the new puppy over Coby. I suggest some training classes where you will learn the skills to address these issues.

| I have to say everyday I come on here you are posting with another 'complaint' about your dogs. It's very disturbing to me that your attitude towards your dogs is so shallow, ie: weight, color. Just love the cute little things, that's all they want, and that's what they're trying to give you.

| Is it possible to feed them at the same time in different places? Mine will fight if fed together, so I feed one in my bedroom and one in the kitchen, this way they are both eating at the same time but are separate. When they are both finished I pick up the dishes and they can be together again. They are like kids, lol of course whoever isn't eating is going to be jealous of the other.

| I suggest puppy training classes. The classes will teach you how to teach your dogs the commands they need to learn so they are easier for you to handle. You need to exercise the control., not vise versa, and classes will help you do that as well as help your pups with socialization.

| Hello, I wouldn't feed them together. Lola is only 12 weeks. No way. Anything could happen. Feed them seperate then Slowly feed them together, maybe snacks or treats. Just read a few of your past post and it seems like you want a picture perfect dog. Are you a New dog owner? Just like people we all cant look like the picture on a Wheaties Box. I have a Scottie who cant grow a beard! He is my boy no matter what. Coby loves you and wants to be near you. Start walking both of them twice a day together. In time they will bond. Good luck and keep us updated. |

| Take a deep breath and relax. If you are anxious and frustrated, your dogs are going to be anxious and frustrated. If you don't already, work a schedule for feeding, walking, play time, etc. Structure is a calming influence. I agree with advice given above to feed the dogs at the same time, but not in the same place. Someone who has experience adding a puppy can advise better, but maybe put the puppy in an xpen with food, and your older boy outside the xpen with his food? I separated my boys with a baby gate at meal times in the beginning, but my second dog was already 8 months old when I brought him home. |

| The trainer I went to for puppy classes has several border collies --- she feeds them at the same time, but separated in their crates. They each have their own safe place where there is no competition.

| I feed mine separately because otherwise Ringo would have ALL the food; and also . . if they are going to fight over anything . . it's going to be food. Lucy eats in her crate and Ringo eats in the kitchen - at the same time. Lucy doesn't seem to mind; and I can rest easy that there is no fighting over food. Plus, Lucy and Ringo eat different foods so . . that makes it easier too. Once mealtime is over; food bowls are taken up until the next meal or snack. |

| All of my 4 dogs are fed in a separate spot. Not because they would fight but because they eat at different speeds and one of the four would be getting all of the foods as she is a hog, woof's her food down and would help everyone else finish their's. They all get feed at the same time and then the dishes are picked up until the next meal. |

| I feed both of my puppies in separate areas. This will avoid any problems. |

| I would agree maybe puppy classes are a good idea for you. You need to learn how to deal with different situations. I can't help with the food issue as I free feed and they go eat when they want. They also have free roam so they go where they want. I have four and they get along great. My Wally is 4lbs and my Trixie is about 15lbs and they play and roll around like crazy. Gotta say Wally, the little one, always wins . I don't have issues with them getting along at all. But I do think because You have so many issues maybe training will help you. Oh 1 more thing... dogs bark!!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I think puppy training classes are an excellent idea, Petsmart and Petco both offer training, and you can speak with instructors for individual problems. With two dogs, it's even more important that you know how to train, you should never train when you're frustrated or angry, or you will create even bigger problems, such as aggressive dogs. I urge you to get training as soon as possible.
