| Naming a new puppy I just put a deposit down for a baby girl. She is 8 weeks old today & is so precious. She stole my heart from the very beginning. I am trying to pick out a name now & it's proving very hard for me. I have one name that I really like, but this particular name was also the name of a previous puppy (chihuahua) that I had many years ago that passed away at a young age. Have any of you re-used a puppy name? I thought it would be nice to do it in memory of my lost baby. Is something wrong with that? The "official" name will not be identical, just the call name. My chihuahua was named Sweet Mary Lou & I called her LuLu. I'm thinking about naming my yorkie baby Lovely Little Lucy Lou & calling her LuLu. What do you all think? I've got a few other names I like as well, but this is my favorite for several reasons. But I don't want to do anything "taboo", if you know what I mean. |

| I dont see anything wrong with reusing a name. Shes going to be with you a long time so the name should be pleasing to you

| Thank you, Chachi. Just got a message from the breeder. My little one weighed 1 lb 2 oz today at 8 weeks. She said she had a great gain from the 6 week weigh in. I'm hoping she continues to grow well. I really want her to reach at least 4 lbs, but that's out of my hands. She's adorable & will be very much loved and spoiled no matter what size she is. |

| Whatever name you would want. As long as you wouldn't be sad using the name again there'd be nothing wrong with it. If you're not positive you could keep it in "reserves" and wait until you have your puppy and see if any names pop to mind. |
