| 5 month old yorkie has one ear up and one ear down?????? Am I suppose to tape the one ear? It doesn't smell bad or anything so there's no infection. Also, I clean her ears so it's not because its dirty. |

| Were they both ever standing up? Is your pup teething? Sometimes the ears will go down when they are teething, but will come back up. Not sure, hopefully somebody else can help.

| Also helps to make sure the hair on top of the ears is trimmed or shaved. If the hair is heavy it can weigh the ears down. |

| Then I would think once she is done teething it will stand again. I also agree about removing any hair on the ear to keep it from weighing it down - but only if you know what you are doing. Don't want to nick your babies ear.

| My Gracies ears were up and one went down and I did tape the one ear for a few days and it went back up. I think a lot of it was because of her teeth but I wanted to give it a little help. |

| I asked my vet about this today. My little 4 month old baby's ears were up when I brought her home 6 weeks ago. Suddenly about 1-2 weeks ago, one ear went down, one ear up. My vet checked her teeth today when I had Princess in for a check up and her 3rd series of vaccines. She is definitely teething. And I was told, her ears should both stand up once she is done teething. |

| Jamie's ears were both up at one point but one went down around 4 months and never came back up. She is 10 months now. I never taped them but I did keep them trimmed. I actually love the way she looks with one down one up. It so matches her personality. People always remember her because of her ears. |

YT Addict | Cooper had one ear up and one down when I got him but he was only 3 1/2 months old. I had his ear shaved and massaged it every time he sat with me. After about 2 weeks of massaging his ear stood up. Good luck!!

| Ears Both of my babies (17 months and 19 weeks) ears started to flop at about that timeframe. I had the groomer 'tip' my oldest and I just 'tipped' (shaving the top of the ear) my youngest. They stood back up immediately. Really funny how the hair weighed them down. |

| Does it really matter? Why do people always want to change the dog they have? If you love yorkies you accept whatever gets thrown at you. I just don't understand why people are so hung up on ears being up or down, the colour or size at maturity or mutilating their tails. Yorkies are yorkies. They're all born wonderful and should be accepted for the beautiful little dogs they are regardless of what a few people decide they 'should' be on paper.
