| Dog rules in a condo development... I live in a condo development with rules about picking up after your dog and whatnot. I have no problem picking up the poo, I know that needs to be done, but the rules say the dogs are supposed to do their business on the pavement, not on the grass. Well, when I got Roxie she was trained to go on the grass. She will not go on the pavement. My neighbors keep yelling at us and I don't know what to do! Is there a way I can train her to go on the pavement? I have tried just standing out there with her on the pavement and telling her to "go potty", but she refuses. I don't want all my neighbors to be angry with me, but I am so annoyed right now. I have seen everyone else's dog pee on the grass...but we seem to be the ones who keep getting "caught".

| That's a weird rule! I'd much rather have some dead grass than urine stains all over the sidewalks Maybe you could carry a bottle of water and "rinse" the pee grass after your baby goes, and show the nosy neighbors that you are conscious of the damage that urine can do to grass and you're diluting the urine to help counteract that. Stuff like this is the main reason that when we bought our home in 2003, we made sure there was no homeowner's association The condo commandos are famously ridiculous here!

| What about buying one of those grassy patches (not sure what they are called) that you keep inside your condo or on a patio? |

| I am the President of our Condo HOA and we had the same rule (strange rule I agree). When I was not the President but just on the board we changed the bylaws to add a statement that all waste needed to be cleaned up and we purchases dog stations for around the community. This law is strictly enforced with a tiered fine of 1st offense $100.00, 2nd is $250.00 and 3rd and any beyond is $500.00 per incident. Trust me when a person is faced with a huge fine they pick up. Oh and another comment, we trust it when people report an incident, and will usually let someone off once (which is usually enough to show we mean business). Go to your board and make a proposal, they can change the rules and probably should.

| Oops forgot to add that we changed it that dogs can use the grass. Seriously who wants dog waste on the pavement - in my opinion that is less likely to be cleaned up.

| I have one of those potty patch things with the fake grass, and she won't go anywhere near it, let alone actually use it to go potty on :0(

| I think that rule is crazy too! Most people train their dog to go on the grass and NOT the pavement. Lucy would have no problem though; she'll go anywhere. |
