| To all the doubts So here we are....4 months old and healthy as a OX. You all told me I shouldnt take him at 6 weeks old and I still did and he is the best dog in the world. He's very quiet and is not much of a barker. He is fully potty trained but makes mistakes here and there if I take him out of his routine. He just recently started to sleep with me because he is able to hold going to the potty durning the entire night. He is 2.2 Pounds so I think he is going to stay very small but he is very good and healthy and just wanted to let you all know whats going on with ...expecually the people the doubted me and gave me a hard time. Now I can smile and say...I did good and its possible to take a baby at a young age you just have to have the time and money and education to do it. Love you all |

| Don't mean to rain on your parade, but do you think YT had a hand at your success? You came on here a few times to get help. Would DJ have been fine if you did it all on your own? Overall, I'm glad he's doing fine and you were able to train him to be a good little boy. Hope your story stays successful.

| I didnt think you couldn't do it. I just thought you were VERY resistant at the advice you were receiving, especially since you were the one asking for it in the first place.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I'm glad you are having success with him, but so many people experience biting problems and difficulty housebreaking when they are taken away from the mother too soon. Mama helps teach biting inhibition as well as beginning housetraining. Few people post on threads simply to give someone a hard time, they are trying to help you and protect you from heartbreak. We've had lots of people lose there dogs due to illness, because they were simply too young to be exposed to certain things. People tell you not to drink and drive, and some people will say that they drink and drive all the time, and never had any problems, does this mean it's safe? No, of course not, they have been really lucky, and that's true of you too. I hope you don't advise people on buying or flying a pup this young, just because it worked out ok with you. If you read enough threads, you will learn it hasn't worked out so well for many others. By the way, Joey didn't start barking until after 6 months, so just because he's not barking now, it doesn't mean that he won't ever have a barking problem. I would never buy a dog this young, it's not that I doubt my own capabilities; it because I think you should do everything you can to ensure that the dog has the best chances of success. I was really relieved when your baby made the flight ok, I can't tell you how worried I was, I think you should consider yourself very lucky indeed.

| Very glad that all has worked out for you and your little one. Not sure if you are boasting because he's thrived so well or if you want a pat on your back because for doing what was recommended to you for your little one. Either way, glad that he's has thrived so well. I and others on here would probably wish you much continued success.

But my husband and I took in 2 tiny yorkies many years ago at the age of 4 weeks. I have a friend who breeds these little angels and have know her for about 35 years now. The mommy of these 2 pups, (Angel and Mirikal) died and my friend was sick with cancer at the time and so my husband and I took the 2 little babies and hand fed them. My friend got better and we were going to return them to her but we just couldn't part with them so she let us keep them of course Well those 2 puppies did wonderful without a mommy to care for them. I had experience with raising up orphaned puppies and kittens, so this is not something people should take on. But both pups grew up to be healthy all of their lives. Angel lived to be 16 years old and Mirikal lived to be almost 19 years old. They died naturally and were the light of our life. We just got another yorkie 4 months ago, he was 4 months old. We got him from the same woman who is still my friend He is almost 9 months old now and just a wonderful boy with a beautiful full coat and he goes everywhere with us. My husband is a Physician and I am a Nurse Practitioner and my husband and I have our own practice in Boise Idaho. We took the girls with us every day to work their whole life's and now Wally goes to work with us every day as well. All of our patients just adore him, he greets everyone and even goes in when we are seeing patients. I wish you the best with your pup and hope he lives a very long happy life like our 2 girls did.. God Bless. Maryanne, David and Wally | |

| Can I ask a question. If someone was in your shoes you were several months ago, What would you tell them? Would you try and tell them the risk and hard work it would take? Would you tell them its not the best choice? I think you both got lucky you found each other. Keep up the good work. |

| I don't think anybody told you you couldn't do it, they probably told you you shouldn't do it. Huge difference! It is much better for the puppy to stay with mom/littermates as long as possible. So glad your pup is doing so well, but that doesn't change the fact that it is not advisable to take a puppy so soon from it's mom.

| So far you are in the low percent who doesn't have problems good for you but problems could still come! Maybe God had mercy on you because he doesn't think you could have handled a puppy with problems.

| It is a gamble...sometimes it works and sometimes the pup dies. Reputable breeders do not gamble with a puppies life. |

| I just hope you don't tell people to get a puppy that young just because it worked for you. YT is a site to educate people. Like Nancy said eveyone knows not to drink and drive and we all know people that do it but we also know it's wrong. I'm happy for you that everything (so far) is working, but don't forget all the people that help you. And those same people may be need again some day. So you should give them a hand and thank them. Best of luck to you
