I don't think anybody told you you couldn't do it, they probably told you you shouldn't do it. Huge difference! It is much better for the puppy to stay with mom/littermates as long as possible. So glad your pup is doing so well, but that doesn't change the fact that it is not advisable to take a puppy so soon from it's mom.
