Are yorkies one-person dogs?

I have heard that male dogs bond with females more and vica versa, I dont know if its true or not. Chester loves me, but its just him and I, but he loves other people as well but not like his mama.

I have heard that too, but my oldest boy, apart from his mommy, prefers men. The younger boy likes both women and men.

I think it depends on the pup...My girl, Apple, is definitely a one person pup...She is very friendly and playful w/everyone on the planet, but she doesn't want anyone holding her or petting her, but me...Buzz, on the other hand, is happy to be with anyone on the planet lol...I got Apple @ 11 1/2 wks. old., and Buzz @ 4 months old, so I don't know if that has anything to do w/it?

Harley is a mama's girl all the way. She goes to her daddy for lots of play time and love, but when she's sleepy or not feeling well, she wants her mama. I think that because IM the one who taught her, trained her, groom her and feed her, she just knows she can rely on me to meet her needs. However, she loves just about anyone who will give her attention

My DH says that Pixie is my dog. She'll be lying next to me and my husband will pick her up and put her on his lap, but, two seconds later she is right back by my side. He can play with her and when we get home from work she goes to him first, but after that she is my dog. I believe that she is my dog, because I'm the one that always takes her out at all hours of the day and night, feeds her, and grooms her.

But my Nicki will also decide to let a family member know its time for that person to pet her and she allows them the privlage

Nicky is my shadow!! Infact where ever I am he has to follow... Even when I do the dises he is sitting on my feet or between my legs. Even now at the kitchen table on my laptop, he is laying on my left foot. My sister said I should have named him shadow lol. My other dog Rocky who is a Shih-tzu tends to like everyone, but he isn't happy when I leave the building and leave him home with his human grandpa. When I get back from where ever I get attacked, and its usually Nicky who goes into a whimpering/crying fit. Like he is letting me know just how upset he is that he wasn't included in the outing I just got home from lol.

Two humans in the house. My daughter 7 and me. I bought Troy for her but he certainly my dog. He loves everyone and is happy to be loved by anyone who will love him back but he'll come right back to me.

I think they have one person they consider a favorite, but will consider capable substitutes when necessary.

Diva loves hanging with my DH, but when we come home or when I come home, she's all about me. She is my shadow. She follows me when I'm getting ready for work. She'll come and sit on my feet or between my legs when I'm brushing my teeth or applying my eyeshadow. She'll even come over and try to lick my lotion (never does that with DH).

When her tummy's upset, she runs to me. If I'm in bed she's there with me. If DH's in bed, she might go and lay down with him for a bit, but she's always right back by my side.

She's my dog - has been since I got her.

I think that about sums it up. My Daisy never meets a stranger and she loves everyone but she sticks to me like glue most of the time. If I get up just to walk across the room, she has to go too.

Sophie Kate is a Momma's girl, she prefers to be by me however she willl get on someone lap but she looks at me with a little "look I am sitting on someone else" look - like I am suppose to be upset (I usually am).

Mine are definitely not one person dogs. Both are attached to me at the hip but when Daddy comes home he is totally smothered with love. I walk them every day at the park and feed them but Daddy hands out the treats and gives the very best belly rubs a doggie could ever want. No wonder they have a hard time choosing a favorite. I don't think they could if they tried.

Levi definitely prefers some people over others, but is generally very good about letting anyone pet him or hold him (when he WANTS to be held! ha). He hates the sound of doorbells, knocking, garage doors, etc and he hates when people approach my car...but he is usually pretty happy to see visitor! He's pretty social

I think Yorkies are more reserved/timid than many other breeds. I tend to agree with 107barney - like most dogs, they know who feeds them most. I wouldn't call them "one perdon dogs" though, just more reserved/shy than many breeds. They are loyal.
