| ![]() I just thought of something else....several people have said "I wish I was your dog" or "when I die I want to come back as one of your dogs". LOL

i hear ya. i get oh he's so cute for Sadie who is decked out in all pink harness and leash and collar and usually has a pink bow or dress on. and the same for SHE's so pretty for a boy in all blue and boy stuff. ahhh people. but then i do it everyday to someone because it's hard to tell if they don't have dresses or color coded leashes ![]() as for training. Sadie is still in walk training. i do not allow her to greet if she's too excited. i will walk away as many times as it takes for her to walk up to the person calmly and greet without barking or freaking out. people don't understand this and just get in the way when i'm working with her. so aggrivating. i also force her to heal and wait for me or else we stop and stand still. it's a privaledge to walk beside me and pulling just makes everything stop again. she's learning, but it's hard when everyone on the sidewalks wants to ask questions or get involved. even DH gets sick of me training Sadie and wants to just walk. but she has to learn somehow. | |

| ![]() I have had people stop their car and say... "What the f.... are you walking your dog in this heat for?" Mind you it was morning and neither one of my dogs were panting... A few days ago some old man stopped and said basically the same thing to me, and I was infuriated so I leaned over and said to him, "What's it any of your Da** business?" and kept walking. Then the old guy said, "Man aren't we a Bi*** today..." I then said, "Takes one to know one mister" still I keep on walking TRYING to mind my own business. Then the old man said... "You try to tell people that they need to keep there dog in the house when its hot and they bite your head off." I then said to the man.. "Look I didn't ask your opinion on ANYTHING and second YOU are the one who dropped the f bomb on me. So naturally I am going to be just as nasty back to you as you are to me... Especially when I NEVER asked for your opinion on the weather or if you thought I should take my dogs home, so PLEASE leave and let me be." He then acted like he was going to stop his car and get out, I was walking the whole time not even stoping to talk to the man. I then picked up my pace a little. I then reached into my pocket for my cell phone I then took it out and said to the man, "Don't try anything funny mister, I have someone down the road here that will be more then willing to come get me, Oh and I also have NO PROBLEM calling 911 on you." The man then said "Thats the last time I ever help someone" I laughed and said "The next time you better WAIT till someone comes and ASKES for your help, or opinion!! " The scary think abot all this is I live in the country, so the jerks are all over the place... UGHNESS

| ![]() yes, the one about carrying them kills me, they have legs people. To make it even funnier my Yorkie is very independent and prefers to walk so when people say that I realize they are clueless. Some people watch to much tv |

| ![]() Generally, I only really get good comments "she's so cute!" is the most common one, but often people will talk between themselves as we walk by, comments like "awww, look at the little dog!", "I want one of those!", that kind of thing. The amusing one that sticks in my mind is when I was walking Milly to the grooming parlour for her 5-weekly session, and walked past a lady with an absolutely beautiful rough collie. I commented on how well-groomed she was, and the lady replied "Yours could do with a bit of a tidy up, you should take her to **name of my grooming parlour**". Nice to know Milly's parlour comes so highly recommended! |

YT 500 Club Member | ![]() I have occassionally had some-one tell me to let mine walk when I am carrying, the reason? I was carrying Rosie who was then a pup, out walking with Alfie [10 months older], so obviously she couldnot keep up or walk as far. I did once pass 3 guys sitting waiting to be picked up for work, and one asked why they were walking as weren't they only for carrying around in a purse???? My awnser, no they're dogs, they need walking too. |
