my point is think of how many thousands of people have these crates for their dogs, and then think of the number of accidents that can happen in the crate. very small number compared to the number of crates. yes its sad when things do happen to our pets by things we thought were safe and use every day but sometimes things just happen, nothing you can do about it. someone mentioned that with the mesh soft sided crates they can get their nails stuck in the mesh, so everything can have a risk, you just need to decide how big of a risk you think it is versus the dogs well being/safety/health/happiness.

| OMG! That had to have been so frightening. Poor little baby. I'm glad to hear that she is alright now. But I have to ask............are you positive that she is a Yorkie? She sounds more like a cat with all of that jumping she has been doing I think that I have seen an Xpen with a top which might also be an option. Just a quick story about Doodlebug. I though he might have been on the kitchen table the other day. But I figured that there was no way that he could possibly been since we have a pub style table that is waist high. Then I actually caught him standing up there the next day~like he belonged up there wagging his tail at me all proud of himself. So I totally believe that possibly we both have cats disguised as Yorkies

| I know that had to be so upsetting and scarey to see your little yorkie's paw caught in the crate. It is amazing how high these little ones can jump. We are always saying our 2 little pups must be part cat! LOL!!!! My pomeranian puppy figured out how to jump over the sides of the EX Pen and also the baby gates. I love having the EX Pen when he had not figured out how to jump or climb over the sides. Now I am using this same EX Pen for my little yorkie puppy. So far, she has not attempted or figure out how to jump or climb over the sides. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I'm so glad you were right there ! I never used crates but did try a playpen when Cheri was very tiny - she climbed also and that was the end of that - too scary for me ! I was lucky then - my husband was alive and always right with her if I was out but still.....I couldn't take a chance since she's a climber and jumper too |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Jazzy is just fine. Thank God nothing serious happened. We brought her on our trip, had planned to leave her at doggie camp. Anyway, I have bought this, I hope I love it. I decided on red over pink. Pretty sure my DH thinks there is too much pink already. lol X-LARGE RED PET TENT DOG PUPPY PLAYPEN EXERCISE CRATE - eBay (item 180505115412 end time Jun-07-10 19:04:57 PDT) |
