| cold weather? Do Yorkies dislike the cold weather? I am in NYC and it was around 50 degrees and my puppy decided he did not want to walk. He ussually takes walks of around 2 miles with me and has no problem. But, during the past two walks, he just sat on the ground after a few minutes and would not budge. (I had to pick him up.) could the fact that it is getting colder be the cause? Also, how do you protect Yorkies from the cold when going for a walk? Sweaters? thanks |

| They love sweaters!!!! Yes it is very cold in NY, I would look for some sweaters to keep him warm. I'm sure he will be walking with you again in no time.

| I have noticed that my dog, Laila, will start to shivver as soon as she gets cold. If I stick a sweat shirt on her, then she is just fine to run around. Also, the rain will cause my pup to not want to go for a walk. I think the rain is chilly, especially with the cold weather - and she can't take it. Good luck!

Definitely coats and sweaters and sometimes both, depending how cold it is. You may want to remember that they are very small and besides that they do not have the undercoat to keep them warm that most other dogs have, so, yes, they get cold quite easily. So do their ears!

| Mine likes to walk in the cool weather and the rain. She loves to splash in puddles during a rainstorm. And she seems to prefer this fall weather to the hot summer. But I keep a sweater on her as someone else suggested. |

| Cold! I am in San Diego and even my Roxie hates to be cold. It doesn't take much to get her shivering. She is just like me.
