| How much should my puppie weigh? Hi everyone!!! I am new, glad to be a part of yorkie talk!!! When I figure out what I am doing I will post pics of my new yorkie. Her name is Princess Hayley, she is 9 weeks and 3 days old. I have had her 2 weeks and 3 days. This is my forst house dog ever. Have had big outside dogs but no inside ones. So diffentley my first yorkie. Ilove her she is sometimes mean and mischeivious but sometimes very sweet!! My question is when she was 7 weeks and 4 days old she weighed 3 lbs!!! I take her bake tom for shots and I am anxious to see if she has gained. Her mom was 7 lbs and her Dad was 4 lbs. Is this a normal weight for a yorkie at this age? will the weight gain slow down or is she gonna be a 12 baby? I love her very much and no matter what she is gonna weigh she will be my baby!! If anyone has any info on this please let me know Thanks Sherry Dee |

| First of all,, welcome to YT!!! My name is Monica and I my furbaby's name is Gus. These critters come in all different sizes. there are some members who have 10 + pounders and others with teenies. My Gus is under 3 lbs and is 18 monthes old. To guess the weight is just that "a guess". I would put my guess in at about 7 lbs. Can't wait to see pictures and look foward to hearing and sharing stories about you and your baby.

| Welcome to YT!!! With this being your first Yorkie and your first inside dog, you will find this site overwhelmingly helpful. The parents of your new pup are in the standard range so your pup PROBABLY will be too. I'd guess probably around 7 lbs also....but you never know. 7 lbs sounds like a lot, but I don't think it looks like it when it comes to a Yorkie. Also you won't know exactly what she is going to look like as an adult either. Have a great time here, it can be lots of fun |

| Hi Sherry Dee!! Welcome to Yorkie Talk, we're so glad you joined us and look forward to getting to know you and Princess Hayley. Its so hard to guess their adult weight, but if I had to guess I'd say she'll probably be about 7lbs full grown. Missy was 2lbs when I brought her home and she is now 5lbs full grown. Her full grown weight will probably be a surprise, you will have so much fun watching her grow. They go through so many changes their 1st year (ears standing erect, training etc. etc.) and each one just as exciting as the next.

| Hi! I have heard that you should triple the weight at 8 weeks and double it at 12 weeks. So that would put her at about 9 pounds as an adult. But like someone said, that is just a guess, you never know about her genes, the grandmother or father may have been larger or smaller than the parents. |

I would estimate your new puppy to grow about 8-9 lbs. as well. Good luck! You will very very quickly become attached to your beautiful new baby.!

welcome to yt, my name is cocoa and my yorkie's name is lucky. this is what my breeder told me also. triple the weight at 8 weeks. so far it seems to be working for me. my lucky was 3 pounds at 8 weeks when i got him. he's currently 6 months and around 7 1/2 - 8 pounds. he hasn't grown in a month so im not sure if he's done or not. i think he'll probably stop at 9 pounds. at this point it doesnt matter, we love him to death. he really put this light in my daughters eyes. he's a part of the family now.

| Welcome to YT. It is really hard to say. You never know what you are going to get. My Roxie at 10 weeks was 2.2 oz, 13 weeks 2.8, 16 weeks 3.5, 19 weeks 3.8 but by the time she hit 26 weeks ( 6 1/2 months) she was 5lbs. She does have appt today and she is almost 10 months. She has stayed the same size pretty much so I would guess she is around 5.5 to 6lbs. Which is what her mother was. So if you take her 12 week weight of around 2.8 lbs and double it- its pretty acurate. Her father was smaller at 3.5 to 4lbs. Either way you gotta love em!
