I also was told this, and it worked with my yorkie, Laila. She was a little over a pound when I first got her at 3 months of age, or about 13 weeks. She is now 9.5 months old and weighs just about 3 lbs. This is what the breeder had predicted, and with the 12 week rule (double it).
I would estimate your new puppy to grow about 8-9 lbs. as well. Good luck! You will very very quickly become attached to your beautiful new baby.!
