How and why did u choose name... I was just wondering how and y you chose ur babies names and what they are???? |
I have a five year old granddaughter that I have custody of who loves Max and Ruby, so 3 years ago we got Max and 6 months ago Ruby was added!!:animal36:animal36 |
My first Yorkie is Samuel Kirby. But I call him Sam, Sammy Sam, Sam Sam, Cujo... his names are endless. I named him Samuel Kirby bc I loved that name. Kirby is a family name. My yorkie mix is Ollie. Ollie doesnt have a middle name. His name came about bc he was an orphan, so I thought of Oliver Twist. Oliver = Ollie. He goes by Ollie, Olliepop, Olliepoppers, Olliepoopers. |

When we first saw our little Sophie she was only two weeks old. She was, and is, so soft and cuddly we thought the name Sophie sounded feminine, soft and just suited her.:) Now 16 months later we find she's a tomboy, he,he :p but she's still soft and cuddly :D |

My family names their kids with the same letters. I'm Donna, sisters; Dorri and Darcy. My two sisters have kids with all "J" names...I'll spare you..... (there's 8 total) My skin kid is Grant, soooooo Gunnar is the "G" name I chose. Lee is a family middle name and also my middle name...wah lah! "Gunnar Lee" :D |
all of our family dogs have names that are related to colors in some form our black lab is Raven ( black) our border collie is Jade (green) our cocker/bishon mix is Rosey ( red) our only yorkie is Penny ( copper ) Her reg name is A penny for your thoughts we got her a few days before valentines so her middle name is love Penny Love When i get penny a brother his name is probably going to be My two cents- Copper |
Rowdy Raider Lee (Rowdy came from because the other morning he was really excited and figured it cute)Raider is DH's XBOX name. I thought it was cute so we went with that.)Lee is our last name Charmed Pheobe Lee( Charmed is a show that me and DH likes) and Pheobe is one of the people that play on there it's actually someone that DH likes Alssia(the girl from Who's the Boss) |
Our Leeloo Dallas is named after Leeloo Dallas Multipass of the movie The 5th Element, b/c she is the 5th member of our family and that movie was our (DH & I) first date movie :) |
Addison, yorkie: We're Chicago Cubs fans. We call her Addie. Mia, chihuahua: She came with the name. At the time, we wanted her name to be related to the Cubs, but she was used to the name. DH made a somewhat lame attempt when he said "Nomar Garciappara use to play for the Cubs and his wife's name is Mia Hamm." Daenerys, yorkie: This is the name of a charachter in a George R.R. Martin series. The character has a really rough beginning in life, she literally walks through fire and becomes a stronger person. Her name is shorted to Dany in the books, so our yorkie is also called Dany (with a "y" not an "i"). Our Dany is a seven year old puppymill survivor, so the name really fits. |
I was watching the Frank Sinatra's movie "Pal Joey", when I finally decided to make the commitment of having another dog in our lives. Joey just seemed the perfect name for a little guy with lots of "attitude". |
I went to 'just look' at morkies, but wound up picking one up that day. I had no idea of a name since I didn't know I would be getting a puppy. On the way home my phone rang and my caller ID read "THE COOPERS", who are my in-laws. Hmm....I quickly asked if they minded if i name my dog after their last name! No other reason than that I thought the name Cooper sounded cute. |
Jackson was named after the Johnny Cash song. We had just watched Walk the Line a week or so before picking him up... and my mom thought Jackson was catchy! After looking at his puppy pics, he just looked like a Jackson... so it stuck. I'm also an MJ fan so it works in that way too. I've noticed a lot of children nowadays named Jackson too so it must be becoming popular! |
My husband wanted to name him, but couldn't figure out what fit. We finally registered him as "Barry's Yorkshire Puddin'", or Puddie for short. Isabella became Bella, became Bella-Boo, became BooBoo, became ... My dogs are so confused they come to ANYthing as long as you sound happy :) |
I am a european history buff and have studied all the dynasties in each country! I happened to love studying about Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette. They were the dauphin and dauphine (prince and princess) of France before they were king and queen! So we got Louis first and named him Louis Dauphin after Louis XIV and then got Paris Antoinette and named her after Marie Antoinette! When Louis and Paris had their baby boy I looked at all the records and louis XIV and Marie antoinette named their boys louis with a different middle name which didn't work! So in keeping with the French theme we called their baby boy Napoleon Yves. Long story but that's how it went! :-) |
I just thought Maddie sounded cute and cuddly. When we went to see Maddie's litter, I picked up a few little girls and asked, "Are you my Maddie?" :) i know, I'm a nut. I picked up Maddie and asked her and she shoved her little nose in my neck and completely relaxed. I looked at my hubby with teary eyes and told him here she is. That's our bringing home the baby story. :) |
I also love big gigantic pretentious names on little dogs! It just seems to suit the yorkie breed because they are little dogs with gigantic personalities and loads of attitude! Loved reading how everyone else has named their dogs! |
Roxie was 2 when I got her, so I didnt have a choice in the matter...lol..But I love the name and I call her all sorts of things, Roxie girl, poololly..lol...Whatever works at that moment, and just my luck she answers to them all...lol.. |
My husband is Irish American and is way into the culture of Ireland. When i was looking for names I came across a website that had Irish baby names thats how I found the name Coaimhe, it means gentleness, beauty. thats what I see in her, so thats the name I chose. |
My Yorkies and Bird: Luxy & Lexia was named after my Lexie that passed away. MJ was named after Michael Jackson. Pebbles because she is small & I was going to name the male BamBam. Sharky because it is such a big name for a small doggie. :) Gizmo because he looks like a gremlin. :) Diamond because I love diamonds. |
