| What's a scat mat? Is it supposed to keep them from leaving the house?

| They let off some kind of sensation (shock maybe?) to make the dog not want to go to that spot... people use them to keep dogs out of a certain area or cats off a counter or something like that.

| Well, I had to find out for myself! But I don't think it's for us. Kacee is allowed anywhere in my home. Scat Mats for Dogs or Cats - Behavior Modification - Training & Behavior - PetSmart

| scat mat Anytime the bell rings abbey runs to the door...she would race out immed if not being held! The scat mat is a long piece of plastic with a 9 volt battery..gives off a slight shock ( would never HURT my baby) Abbey watched as I placed it in front of door...still watching when I turned it on and got shocked myself! Hubby on other side..we opened door and that precious (!) Abbey looked at me looked at hubby and hoped over! so now purchasing a 70 in wide free standing gate for the porch! |

| Oh! I see why you wanted it. The gate will surely work for what you want it for. Good luck to you. Wouldn't wanna lose that precious lil girl.
