Anytime the bell rings abbey runs to the door...she would race out immed if not being held! The scat mat is a long piece of plastic with a 9 volt battery..gives off a slight shock ( would never HURT my baby) Abbey watched as I placed it in front of door...still watching when I turned it on and got shocked myself! Hubby on other side..we opened door and that precious (!) Abbey looked at me looked at hubby and hoped over! so now purchasing a 70 in wide free standing gate for the porch!
