I would be over there with the Police if one of mine was lost.....and somebody thought they saw him....especially if a stranger stole him right out of my front yard. I understand how you don't want to get your hopes up, but he's your dog. Police will check on anything and any kind of stolen property. Can't you call the police and tell them you need them to check with you on seeing if these criminals have your dog?? If not there will be an altercation...that usually gets the Cops moving...at least around my boring town.

Ive tried getting police involved and it almost seemed to make things worse. Basically there is nothing they can do unless I have some sort of proof that he's there. The guy that called that morning said he seen a lady walking him in front or near an apartment complex at the corner busy street. He did not know where the lady lived or if it were in the complex. Believe me this whole situation is overwhelming and I have done everything I can think of. But as far as the lady at the complex, the most I can do is walk into and around it hoping to see him. I keep my eye out for him every single time im out. Believe me. I've even stopped my car and reversed it to see what that shadow (at night) in the middle of the alley was when I wasn't sure. I have went back to so many cats I thought were him its not even funny.

hi i am new on here and been reading all ur thread and im sorry to hear about him.... good luck!!! and dogs never forget there love ones they normally get really happy to see then even after a year!!

Might be totally off base but what if the lady that called actually is the one that has the Yorkie. Maybe she just purchased him recently and is not sure she wants to give him up. Might be a thought to find out where she lives as well.

My sincere apologies for not being online for so long - but today i just had to take the time out to see what had happened and im on the edge of my seat.

I know you have had SO many "maybe it's him" phone calls etc but if this lady chats to you, please ask her for an address and go there personally. Stranger things have happened and dogs have been reunited after longer times than this so I feel there is still hope.

You really need to give yourself credit where credit is due - you have stuck this out through thick and thin (including some hostility you received) and have not given up so I for one am really proud of you :)

I will check up soon to see what has happened. Dont worry about the money for the reward until you know for certain it is him or not.

I had to give up my rescue dog a few years back and I FIRMLY believe with all my heart that even if her new owners changed her name...if she saw me after all we went through together she would remember me instantly no matter what name i called her.

I still look out for her when we visit the area she is in now on the farms and I dream of being reunited with her even for an instant - and that's knowing she is safe and looked after. So my heart aches for you and for benjamin

Keep hoping and praying, Cookie2 has been looking for her baby for months and they still continue to check every lead. I cannot imagine the stress you are under but don't give up. With God all things are possible.

I have read all 43 pages of "the Benjamin story" and feel like I've just watched the saddest Lifetime Movie. My heart aches for you, your daughter and Benjamin. My prayers are with you! Any new news yet?

Hi, Sorry for my sounding rude in my last reply. It's just that the police wll gladly help in that kind of situation around my area. Maybe the SPCA can help you. I'm sorry, you must be a nervous wreck....I can't even imagine being in your shoes. If I lived near you I'd help you and go door to door in the places that this Yorkie was last seen. I pray that you find him soon.

no i understood what you meant. I have that same type of attitude about things. Unfortunatly, the police around here have better things to do with their time. :(

She never called me back that day. And because of my stupid bank card I didn't have the money and my cell phone was shut off two days ago. I am still waiting for it too. Hopefully I'll get it today. I don't get it. Why would someone call me like that and tell me they would be back in touch in a couple hours and never call. Things like this have been happening. Makes me feel toyed with. I would never do that. And I'm not just saying that, I know I wouldn't.

I did try calling her once like the next day after the call but it went straight to VM.

That crossed my mind, belive me. But it would surprise me if that were true and she didn't block her number before calling. Maybe she didn't think about it and just called. Ill call and let everyone know what happens.
