I dont know. this one was picked up in south gate... that's not to far. But it says hes medium size, benjamin is def small. I called the pound and talked to someone who said he was wearing a tag. But she said i should come look anyway just incase. I was going to ge anyway. I'm going on my lunch.

did benjamin have a tag or collar?

Yes, the pound is the first place to check, most have bulletin boards and you can put up a picture of a lost pet.

OMG, I hopes like crazy that it's Benjamin. The petfinder picture doesn't look like a medium dog. I keep checking and hoping you'll get him.

We are praying Christine, My Sam got out last week and was nearly killed by the 2 boxers next door. i'm so terrified now that i keep him on a 16 ft retractable leash even inside. At least until my nerves calm down.

I'm really bothered by the petfinder ad...it says he was impounded yesterday (5-10-10) and they already have him posted on petfinder with an avaliblity date...is that normal? If Sam got out and for some reason animal control caught him i would hate the idea of someone putting him on petfinder that quite.

Yes when a dog is at the shelter, they have a "Hold" time (depends on each shelter - anywhere from 48 hrs to 10days), and if no owner claims, they can either be put up for adoption or PTS

I am lucky that we don't use our front door, so I don't have to worry about escapes...You may want to consider getting an Expen that you can encase the door.

Yes that is normal to have a found dog posted on Petfinder.

Did anyone suggest that you contact local rescues to get the word out as well? I just got a lost yorkie bulletin in my email for Chicago and on in Joliet, IL, They might be willing to network your info to a wide area in CA.
