I'm really bothered by the petfinder ad...it says he was impounded yesterday (5-10-10) and they already have him posted on petfinder with an avaliblity date...is that normal? Yes when a dog is at the shelter, they have a "Hold" time (depends on each shelter - anywhere from 48 hrs to 10days), and if no owner claims, they can either be put up for adoption or PTS
I am lucky that we don't use our front door, so I don't have to worry about escapes...You may want to consider getting an Expen that you can encase the door.
