Donating YT 4000 Club Member | ![]() I'm not sure if you are asking about choosing by health or behavior. Either way, try googling "how to choose a healthy puppy" and you will come up with loads of information about both. What ever you do, take your time and really observe the puppy and the parents (preferably both are on site). I've never gone wrong in the past when I took my time and looked past the cutest little eyes or markings and really LOOKED at how the dog was behaving. A good breeder will understand that you are making a lifetime commitment and welcome your questions and taking your time to make the right choice. Be honest with them about your life style, too. A great breeder knows those puppies well and can help you choose the best personality fit for you.

| ![]() Hi, I'm going to tell you my experience. When my yorkie came home she was 4 months old and boy did she tremble. Even when she ate she trembled, poor baby even drooled. Who could blame her she was scared silly. I was prepare for her and made sure I had Nutri-Cal in hand. They are in a new environment so they might not be running around and yapping like normal dogs. I gave her some space, she had a bed in a corner and her crate was near by in case she needed time alone. My girl came from someone who had a litter so I knew I might be getting myself into something. All dogs are different while some are hyper some are shy and they all express there fear differently. Breeder probably didn't socialize the pups well and there scared silly. A few day's will not be sufficient for the pup to know you. And how the puppy acts in the breeders house might not be the way they act in your house the 1st few day's. I'm not an expert this is just my opinion. Good Luck!! and post pics of your new addition. ![]()
