| Your Springtime issues with your dog? It's been a mess! All the little squigglies that fall from the trees get caught in his hair, daily combing is a must. Now there are caterpillars (or just worms) that are all over the place. Today I had to stop Cooper with mushrooms (which I know can be toxic) TWICE! I got them away from him before he ate them. Things like this make it very hard to work on the housetraining. I also saw a large hawk in a yard across the street. I don't know about the rest of you, but here in central Florida, there are lizards everywhere....seriously. Can they hurt him too? Cooper is my first Yorkie, I want to keep him safe because I love him. I also want to him to be trained to potty outside! He's doing very well, but holy moly, what about the mushrooms and things that are just going on naturally? |

My dogs like to chase lizards. If they catch one they play with it with their paws. I've never seen them put one in their mouths. I would tell them to leave it at that point. blek! I would be concerned about the hawk. Just stay with him when outside. I lived in Florida 17 years and we had a small grassy area in our screened porch just for the dogs to go potty, as we didn't have to worry about gators or hawks that way. It was a little piece of mind.. Be careful of snakes, they are hard to see in the grass sometimes. we had water moccasins. yuk! and those are the things I DONT miss about Florida LOL. Good luck! | |

| The yard is small so we don't let grass grow, we just keep it raked and mulched. These little mushrooms are so tiny I don't know if I can find them! He sniffed them out and pulled them up by the roots and took off running! I looked around and didn't find any that I could see....they had brown tops. My husband took a picture of a lizard sunning in the yard yesterday, scary looking creature. It must have been 8 inches long with a red funny looking comb like thing. The neighbors said they live under their shed and aren't poisonous. As for the hawk, I never leave him outside alone. Even at night I can hear owls, I know they fly without making noise. The little guy only weighs 4.5 lbs....so I never let my guard down there. Snakes, yes, are another concern. My husband killed a nice sized coral snake by the outside faucet last summer. That's why we try to keep the vegetation to a minimum other than the flower beds we have. |

| At the place we used to live, a year ago, there was a huge owl that would sit on the fence at night. I used to be fascinated by them, now I'm scared of them. The thing was huge, easily 2 1/2 feet tall. We backed up to a shopping center, I think he was looking for rats at the dumpsters. There is a hawk that lives around here, or frequents the area. A few months ago he was sitting on OUR fence eating the remnants of something. I'm far less fascinated and much more paranoid now that I have Cooper. I am diligent about not leaving him outside unattended. |

| I'd be paranoid too! Things happen way to fast and when you're least expecting. I know you're a good momma and your baby is lucky that you care so much. |

| I've had to watch Cerise like a hawk when we go outside. She keeps finding all types of new Spring goodies to put in her mouth and run off with. It's has become such a problem that I just started carrying her to the spot I want her to go in or to the car. There was so much Spring debris inside at my front door and I do have to brush her and wipe her off everytime we come inside.

| Kacee's first spring was a nightmare! It was so humid and mushrooms would pop up in hours! It got so bad that I had to go check her yard before I could let her out in it. One time she found one that I didn't see and it was hiding behind a clump of decorative grass and she was carrying it around in her mouth, but I got it away from her. I haven't seen any this year though.
