| ![]() I received this update regarding the St Anne 53: St. Anne 53 Puppy Mill Information Meetings Last week, the attorney for Gorecki and Brownfield filed a motion to have the dogs returned to them. Because of the amended motion, the court proceedings are yet again delayed. We will now have a court status appearance on June 7th and then go to a jury trial sometime later this year. Due to the continuance of the St Anne case, South Suburban Humane Society would like to invite you to come to the shelter for some information on the status of the dogs, as well as what needs to be done to protect animals in the future. You will also learn what we need to move forward in the best interest of these dogs. The homes these dogs are in now are temporary foster homes and with the delay in the case we are looking to find these dogs long term/permanent foster homes. There will be three meetings held at the shelter (1103 West End Avenue in Chicago Heights). May 12th at 6pm May 22nd at 3pm May 24th at 6pm You need only attend one of these meetings. If you need more information or cannot attend one of these meetings, please email Emily at emily@sshspets.org Thank you for your ongoing support of SSHS and of these dogs!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | ![]() Thanks for the update. Sounds like they are going to drag it out and not allow these babies to find permanent homes. If they win the case they get the dogs back correct? Just so wrong.

| ![]() Yes, if the two women win the trial, they will get the dogs back. On an upside, the motion they filed now gives the humane society a jury trial. What jury is going to give these dogs back them? Also, a new law is coming up (not passed yet) that will make it illegal for someone who has been convicted of cruelty to animals to ever get another breeding/kennel license. I guess there has been enough outcry about this case that they are starting to do things to prevent it. Thanks to each and every one of you who has helped! We can make a difference!
