Thank you all so much for your help! I've been posting where I can, hoping to get more signatures. It's great that the governor is aware, too bad they only have a "canned" resonse. I still haven't heard from Lisa Madigan's office, but the website did say they respond by regular mail. I'll post what it says when I receive it.

I pray every day they do not get these little guys and gals back. When I read about them starting to come out of their shells, it brings tears to my eyes. Reminds me of how our Dany was when we first got her.

I am sorry if I posted incorrectly. I am new to be a puppy mom, and I am new to yorkietalk. I am completely agree that hurting animals is like hurting babies - they can not explain what is being done to them no they can "reply" back. How many dogs are there and who is taking care of them now?

There were 53 dogs taken from two women in Kankakee County, Illinois. They are called the St. Anne 53. They were being housed in cages in a shed behind a trailer in a trailer park. The South Suburban Humane Society has the dogs at this time. A judge is supposed to make a ruling in May (next month) as to whether or not these women will get the dogs back.

One of the women has had charges brought against her for neglect of animals twice before and has spent time in jail for the crimes.
