| Hair growth Hello all Today I like to talk about hair Just wondering, how long does it take for a Yorkie's hair to grow? You see, today I decided to cut Samy's hair (all by myself) to a bare minimum as he had terrible mats from the time he was at the breeder's with the other pups. I tried many ways to untangle the mats but it just bothered him and he started to look too messy and even dirty looking. Now he is a shaved rat hahaha too cute.. now I can see all his little cute moves and it just makes my heart melt... BUT... I want to know how long will it take for it to start growing back to a normal length? Thanks

| Just to add, I only cut the hair on his body, left the head and legs uncut.

| I was catching up on the posts and I see you got lost in the shuffle! I have never paid a lot of attention, but I'm guessing about a quarter of an inch or so a month. I've always left Kacee's long on the body and we just get the bottom trimmed occasionally. Anyway, that's my best guess.

| Bogie was in a puppy cut when we got him this past July. I groom my babies myself and only trim pads, sanitary trim and keep their bellys shaved. His hair is almost touching the floor now. At first it didn't seem like it was growing at all and now it seems like you can see it getting longer every day. I don't know the average rate of growth, but it took 8 months for him to get to a full coat.

| Kinda depends on what type of coat he has. My Zoe has a very slow growing coat and it takes forever but Libby has a faster growing coat. I haven't cut her yet but I'm thinking hers will grow back very quickly! |

| Thanks... Samy's coat is silky and from my observation over the past couple of months, it grows fast.. so hopefully it does grow fairly quickly just so for the fall and winter he will be warm in his coat he is not a big dresser heheheheh
