| Just adopted a female who 2 weeks ago who is now 7 months. Hi! I adopted a 7 mo. old female yorkie I have a few questions on. First and foremost, she was spayed 2 weeks ago and had her DHLPP and DHPP shots last December. She's had this cough and been retching and sneezing little. The vet said she was too young to have allergies and it seems to be worsening as she was doing it a lot last night. I am not sure if it is bronchitis or an upper respiratory infection? She doesn't have any nasal discharge and her nose seems to be dry. She's still coughing and retching now. Any ideas? Also, she is A.C.A. registered and has the former owners last name. Is there any way I can change it to my last name? |

5 in 1 DHPP, and 6 in 1 - DHLPP The 5 in 1 vaccination provides protection from Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus type 2), Parainfluenza, & Parvovirus. The 6 in 1 vaccination provides protection against the aforementioned diseases, as well as against Leptospirosis. This vaccination is the most important vaccination and may start as early as 8 weeks in healthy dogs, boostered until 4 months old. See Puppy Vaccination Schedule. I will have to ask about the antibiotic due to the spay. She was in a house with other dogs/cats and wasn't sure if it was kennel cough but no nasal discharge so I didn't think it was that. | |

| Ask the place you got her from if or when she received a kennel couph vaccine. If they did it prior to you taking her, which was what two weeks ago, then possibly this is what it is. It took Brooklyn around three weeks for it to clear up. It was worse in the early morning and late at night. I hope your girl is feeling better soon. Elaine |

| Do you know for sure it's a cough and a sneeze? My two were doing that sneeze/cough type of soundwhile playing and I found out it's a reverse sneeze and it's normal. I'm not an expert though.

| Yes it's like a hacking retching type cough then like she's trying to cough something up at the end but doesn't. The sneezing is once in awhile. It seems to be worse late @ night and early in the morning. I think it might be bronchitis. I am going to take her in today hopefully. |
