| Going to be a receptionist for a vet's office Okay i finally have found a job that i think suites me I'm going to work as a receptionist in a vet's office!! I'm sure to have tons of stories of cute/fun/wonderful situations...and i'm sure many more heartbreaking/sad/awful stories. I know with my opinionated mind i may have to really learn to hold my tongue about lots of training and pet situations. People are really just plain ignorant with animals sometimes, but I hope to enjoy and help out many of the local people with their pets and to work through a degree in vet. tech. so that i do have a say in some of the things they need to change about their raising pets. Wish me luck !! I start on Monday. |

| thanks guys, as many of you know i was working for a daycare and i'm ever so glad to be done with that. i have come to the realization that when it's my own kids i'll feel much differently, but for now, i much prefer dogs and cats to human children |

| How funny, us animal lovers seem to fall into nurturing type jobs don't we? I've been working with kids for the last.... oh geez it's been forever and I'm only 24! I guess "professionally" it's been 5-7 years, and I have the exact same feelings you do. Don't get me wrong, I love helping them, but as someone else on YT said, "Teaching is the best birth control"

| This was my first profession 20 yrs. ago..gee it was that long ago?? haha! I really loved it and it was before you needed to be certified to be a vet tech. I worked both front and back. So I got to experince both jobs..dealing with clients and assisting in surgeries and grooming and boarding. I absolutely loved the vet I worked for and that made all the difference in the world. When I moved out of state, I worked for some other clinics and hated it! The front office can be very, very stressful. You want to be in a place where the whole staff works as a team! very important for your sanity. If it turns out you don't love it and it isn't what you thought it was..don't give up..try another Vet. I am an esthetician now and I sometimes think about going back to working with animals. Wishing you the very best!! and don't forget to smile.. Last edited by ckuz13; 04-14-2010 at 10:10 AM. |

| Awesome! That's the kind of job I need to find. I'm currently a dogsitter (among other side jobs) and it works for now but it won't quite pay enough when I move out on my own.

| Congratulations! Now, LOL! find out if they scan all new patients and especially the little ones. If not, gently let them know there are many being stolen. |
