| Layla was supposed to get her teeth pulled... but then we got bad news Today we took Layla in to the vet to get her teeth pulled. They took her blood and then asked us to sit in the waiting room with Layla while they ran all of her bloodwork, then they would come get us to put her under and pull her teeth. The doctor called us back into the room and told us that he had bad news, turns out Laylas BUN was elevated to 112! I guess the highest it should be to be in the normal range is 30. He also said that her white blood cell count was high. He told us hes going to send it off to the lab for a second opinion and started us on antibiotics. We are so scared we dont know what to do! He said she could have kidney disease, he also said it could be a whole bunch of reasons why her BUN was elevated, he dosnt know! We are so worried about our baby. Does anyone have any idea of what it could be thats causing the elevation?

| I'm sorry your baby is ill. I wish I could make you feel better, but I know nothing about this. I'll keep you and your baby in my thoughts. |

I can look for the yahoo groups but in the meantime have the vet redo the BUN and Creatinine tests if at all possible. Keep us posted. Both Harley D and DJ died from kidney diseases.
