| No way. I've seen people try it at the dog park a few times... it's different if you KNOW the person but it's really odd to pick up someone's dog you don't know. Luckily, Jackson's a bigger boy but I know his Yorkie friends Bandit and Nala get the "strangers wanting to pick them up" more often and it's just irritating.

The dog park is for the dogs to enjoy themselves, ya know?! Let them run around and have fun!

| It happened to me for the first time yesterday in a bar. I hated it, but didn't say anything as the guy picked him up properly and held him correctly. But, I definitely won't let it happen again. I just though the guy was going to pet him and was kinda in shock when it happened. |

| I have the SAME EXACT problem!! It bugs me SO MUCH! I don't understand why people don't realize it's RUDE to pick up other people's dog without permission. I noticed you live in San Jose. which dog park do you go to? I go to the one on Camden and Reed st.

| Absolutely not!! Not only at a dog park, but anywhere! Heck, I wouldn't approach someone's pet without asking if they mind.

| When people approach and want to handle my dog and (at least have the good sense to ask) if she bites. I just say "yes". (she hasn't bitten any one to date nor shown any indication she would, but in the end she's a dog and any dog could bite) That usually backs them off, but I have met people with babies in those little front chest carriers lean over to pet my dog and their baby's face falls within an inch of my dog's nose. And they do it so fast it's hard to stop them. I discourage strangers, particularly children and sudden movements on their part just because I'd hate for something to happen, as we've all heard, "they never bit anyone before..." statement ...right after their dog bit someone (for the first time). |

| Absolutely not, and you may want to be careful going to dog parks...think about it.
