| My puppy was 2 pounds 10 ounces at 13 weeks. So they are estimating that she will be 5-6 pounds all grown up. I guess the rule of thumb is to double the 12 week weight, but it really isn't an exact science. If my puppy ended up being 20 pounds, I'd love her just as much Your breeder should be able to give you an estimate on full grown weight, I think

| i just emailed my breeder, and she said that my puppy was a really fat baby probably b/c the mother only had 2 babies. she still isn't sure how big he'll be, but doesn't think he should be over 6 lbs, but if he's 12 i won't care, i'll still love him ...thanks a bunch guys! |

| Estimating Weight I think the rule is pretty accurate although definitely not 100%. The vet told me that even though the parents are small, sometimes their genetics go waaay back to grandparents and they can be either larger or smaller. She said this often happens: The breeder gives an estimate between the parents' sizes and the buyer ends up with a puppy much larger than expected. Once they are at least 4 months you can get a better picture of how big they will be. No matter what size, we all love our little babies!

| I figure based on his 12 week weight that Bo will be about 9 pounds...we'll see. I'm glad he's sturdy and a good eater. I tripped over him this morning and almost stepped on his neck!! He let out a little yelp. My household is VERY active and we'd be paranoid having a tiny one (although they are precious!!) underfoot. At this point in our lives, a bigger Yorkie fits our family better. |

| I was told if you double their weight at 3 months of age that it would be a close estimate to the full grown weight. |

| Thanks for the great info. I was wondering how big little Cooper will be! He is almost 10 weeks old and at his vet visit at 9 weeks, he weighed two pounds two ounces. He could be a little one, I guess. We'll see! Christi |
