Could someone enlighten me on the NAKC....is this a step toward true AKC shows??

Well its a step in the right direction, We can now show off the Parti color Yorkshire Terrier as the beautiful dog that it is.

No they will not. they are listed under exotic breeds. I do not think it is any great accomplishment for the prarti colored yorkshire terriers to be listed under exotic breeds. They put anything and everything that does not fit anywhere else in the group.

Just another registery that will register anything to make money.

No it is not. It cheapens what they really are. Yorkshire Terriers. Accepting anything other than that is just settling.

They are in the Companion and Exotic group, and yes Partis are companions

APRI is the American pet registry Inc it is a registry.

NAKC (North American Kennel Club) NAKC is not a registry, they are only involved in the conformation aspect of dog shows. It is important to note this as at present only the AKC or FCI pedigrees can be used to show around the World. While other conformation clubs either demand you register with them, or require fees to receive Championship papers NAKC still keeps the costs as low as possible with format they are using. If you are interested in showing in a fun, family orientated show where no matter your economic situation you have a fair chance to win.
