| My niece bought a Yorkie puppy without papers because the mother of the puppies wasn't bred on purpose. The breeder was sure that the father of the puppies was her Yorkie sire, but she could not say 100%. She could have lied and applied for papers anyway but she sold the puppies without the pedigree and reduced the price accordingly. I think this was the best she could have done in the circumstances, she was honest about it and my niece was happy to get an inexpensive Yorkie (she had the puppy neutered, as she should). In your case, I would look at the puppies and parents. Find out what vet the breeder uses and call for a reference. Before I bought my Yorkie I looked for one in a shelter or a rescue, but there were none in the shelters around, and the rescue dogs I found on the internet all had serious health issues and to adopt them you had to pay a huge vet bill for surgery already done, plus they would be on expensive medication forever. Since my husband has health problems I just didn't feel that I could commit to a dog with serious problems. I only wanted a dog for companionship |

Yes, she could have lied, but not a good thing to do as you can cause trouble for yourself with AKC, be suspended.
