| Glucosamine supplements for LP So Bailey and Layla both have a slight Luxate in their petallas so our vet recommended that we use glucosamine supplements so we bought a bottle (for 70 bucks) they have been taking them for about 3 days now and Im just wondering. Does anyone else give glucosamine to their furbabies? Are their any cons? How well does it work if at all? I just bought it because my attitude is ANYTHING that can help them with their knees or stop any further damage is worth every dime. But im just wondering if their is really any proof that this stuff works. Any input is appreciated Thanks =)

| Yes try this Zukes Supplement. I give it to Bently and it has worked like a charm. And it doesn't cost $70 a bottle "Ouch" |

| I give Uni Cosequin. It's about $45 for a bottle of 180 capsules which I give 2x a day. It's good for overall joint health, not just the knees. Esp if your pups are older they can benefit from it too. What grade LP do your babies have? Uni is grade 3 and she hasn't hiked her leg since that one day last year ever since I started her on cosequin.

| I use Cosequin. I'm a firm believer in glucosamine because of what I've seen it do for Alexander over the last few years. ETA: I now order mine online from entirelypets.com. It's half the price of what local stores are carrying it for.

| Oh not too bad. However, I have heard that pups under one yr should be checked again after they are "adult". Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I guess their joints and stuff are not "set" yet and can be manipulated out, but then when they develop fully it can possibly not be a problem anymore. you like my super technical terminology? LOL

| I just bought a bottle of Cosequin DS this last weekend. Of course, I read on here that Cosequin is good, but when I got to the store there were a couple of different types of Cosequin. Did you read the packaging though? On the bottle I bought it did say that you need to give it at least six weeks to guage any benefits. The bottle I bought will last almost 6 months so I figure I should know by then.

Thank you, I wasn't sure, but that is exactly what the bottle says, half a tablet for under 10 lbs. I went ahead and got it at Petsmart. I got lucky as it was on sale for 38.00 I wanted to get started right away and didn't want to wait on shipping, but next time I will check out the online site you all are recommending to see if I can save any money.

LOL Seriously! At Petco it was 59.00 so on a haunch I drove a few extra blocks to check Petsmart. I "think" their regular posted price was 49.00, but you know I gave my life away for more junk emails (their card program) and got their "store" discount of another 10.00. I guess that makes it 39.00. I think however, that is their regular posted price on line too!!!!

| Prince has been using Dasuquin for about two months, and I am really happy with it. I got over the shock of the price $94.00 for 150 because he is doing well on it. He only takes a half tablet a day, so it'll last for almost a year. I mash his up with a little low fat whipped cream cheese, and he'll like it off of my finger...he won't eat it unless I use the cream cheese. I posted a thread that I started a whle ago. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-dasuguin.html
