New White Yorkie!!

Hey yorkie talk community!
My name is Mary Everett and I live in Virginia Beach, VA and have 3 yorkies!:) I am new to the community and wanted to say hi but also noticed when I did a search for white yorkies on google that it brought me to a discussion here on whether or not white yorkies exist! I can emphatically say that they do! I have a black and gold designer yorkie male named Louis who is also a gold gene carrier and he is 14 months old. I also have an ALL WHITE designer yorkie female named Paris who is 12 months old! They both came from the same breeder but different litters. I got them about 2 months apart in 2009 when they were each about 8 weeks old and love them like they are my children. Unfortunately I did not realize until it was too late that Paris was in heat and she and Louis mated in January! I realize that this could have turned out badly for many reasons but luckily Paris safely delivered one healthy baby boy (napoleon) last Friday (3/19/10) who much to our suprise was also completely white! All of their pictures are posted on my page! I am glad to find this community and look forward to starting friendships with other people who love yorkies! If you have a white yorkie I would love to chat with you!! See you around!

Wow!! Do you know what they are mixed with? They are adorable.

Oh, welcome to yorkie talk!!!:)

I own both parents. Louis and Paris are the dad and mom of Napoleon who was just born! He is black and gold but a gold gene carrier and she is all white! Both of their sets of parents were from champion bloodlines! But who would have guessed that Napoleon would have turned out pure white with a black and gold dad! You can view all of their pictures in the albums on my page!

I did view your pictures and they are all adorable!!

Welcome to YT.
Paris is beautiful and yes, I have seen a white Yorkie before, a past
neighbor had one. Congratulations on your new white puppy too.
Glad things turned out perfectly for Paris on her delivery of her
pup.

Enjoy. It's crammed full of everything you need or could want in a site.

hugz4all4 03-25-2010 06:14 AM

welcome to YT, congrats on a healthy pup. All the picture's are adorable.

Why do you call them "designer" yorkies? Usually people will refer to a "designer" dog if they were 2 different breeds. Example.. Morkies or Yorkie poo's to some are considered "designer dogs" I havent heard anyone call a pure bred yorkie, regardless of color a designer yorkie. Just asking thats all..:)

That's what I was wondering!!! In my first post, I asked what they were mixed with because of the label "Designer."

Welcome to YT! Glad you joined the site, but I too must ask.... what do you mean by "designer"? I've never heard of a yorkie be called designer other than mixes like someone else mentioned. I'm off to go see pictures of your cuties!

BonBon 03-25-2010 07:49 AM

Welcome to YT! Your babies are very cute. I didn't see pics of Louis in your album - did I just miss them? Are the parents AKC registered? I love all their names, too.

To the OP: Welcome to YT!

maryeverett1 03-25-2010 09:41 AM

Okay guys here is the very long and confusing story on why they are called designer yorkies (and I meant Paris and Napoleon not Louis:)

Louis is an M1 gold gene carrier! His mom was blue and gold and his dad was solid gold. Louis is Napoleon's dad...he is AKC registered.

Paris is an F1 biewer gold and white gene carrier. Her dad was a golden/white biewer who was AKC registered. Her mom was a solid gold yorkie who was CKC registered. When duchess had her puppies the AKC would not let them be registered with them because at the time they did not view biewers as full bred yorkies like they do now and also would not let the litter be registered with them because duchess was CKC registered. So they had to be registered with highbred as designer. Napoleon (who is Paris and Louis' baby boy is an F1 gold and white biewer. As you can see by this highly confusing explaination none of my dogs are "designer" or mixed breeds...they are full bred yorkies. Hope that clears up any confusion and I will be editing that in my description!

rbelland 03-25-2010 09:44 AM

Welcome to Yorkie talk!:)

I am confused, I was not aware that you could register any biewer AKC. I thought it was Parti's that could be registered with AKC. Am I wrong?

maryeverett1 03-25-2010 09:53 AM

According to my breeder (the one who gave me Louis and Paris) AKC is now recognizing Biewers...that's all I know...

brendah 03-25-2010 10:05 AM

Hello, I just want to welcome you and your yorkies to YT! :animal-pa

Well I would beg to differ! I am NOT aware the AKC recognizes Biewers.

maryeverett1 03-25-2010 10:10 AM

And for the person that made the comment about it being good to know my breeder released my yorkies at 8 weeks with full breeding rights...my breeder hand and home raises every single litter of yorkies she has. She has been breeding for 17 years and does it for the love of the breed not the money. Her prices are ridiculously reasonable in comparison to what is being charged online. However she is EXTREMELY picky about her dogs and interviews extensively and has been known to turn down a lot of money if she doesn't feel that whoever is trying to buy a puppy isnt the right owner/home for the dog. She also does not sell to breeders for the most part and interviewed me extensively before releasing Louis to me. Because of the quality of care I gave Louis she was willing to release Paris to me and knew that if I intended on breeding Paris I would be the exact same type of breeder that she is! In my personal opinion Terri is the best breeder hands down because of her absolute love and devotion to the breed and her mission of making sure every single puppy finds a lifetime home! I am proud to have been priviledged enough to have gotten 2 of her gorgeous dogs and because of that have beautiful little Napoleon!!

I am sure someone can answer this way better then I could I don't know much but I do know Biewers and yorkies are two different breeds? I would say since they are two different breeds Paris IS a mixed dog.

Very cute by the way ! I love them all regardless of breed, color, paper or whatever!

Very confusing? M1, F1....how do you go about explaining all of this in English and what the M & F stand for? Who is Duchess? I have never heard of the registry "Highbred"?

BabyBrizzy 03-25-2010 10:15 AM

Goggle search returned nothing on "Highbred" as a registry...

I find all of this hard to believe! She sold you puppies at 8 weeks old, PERIOD! Then gave you full rights! Not a reputable or ethical breeder in my book! One would think after 17 years of raising and breeding yorkies, one would have knowledge as to why it is important to keep puppies till at least 12 weeks! As for her price, means nothing to me!

here's something else i found on biewers: Biewer Breed Club of America Inc. BBCA

Puppies which are the result of a biewer x yorkie breeding as referred to as
F1. A breeding of a an F1 pup to a biewer would be called F2.

I am unfamiliar with the term M1.

Biewers are not recognized by AKC. Biewers are a breed which orignated in Germany and the pedigree on both sides will trace back to the original breeding pair Fu Fu and Darling Friedheck.

The gold coloring is not the result of a "gene" per se. It is the result of a gene mutation.
