:)I hope you'll stay around. YT can be a rewarding experience and very interesting, too. We have some really great members. People's comfort level on discussions vary and I hate it when we lose new members right off the bat. There IS a lot of really FUN stuff on this site if you're interested in "anything yorkie". I would love to see more photos of your beautiful yorkies. :animal-pa |
Thank you Oceansoracle for your comment! All that truly should matter is that a dog (or 3 in my case) are being given all the love and attention that they need and want! In my case my dogs have a bed in every single room of my house, have more clothing than most children and are my pride and joy! Whether they are AKC, CKC or any other C registered does not matter to me! I love them and a year ago buried my 17 year old cocker spaniel (before I got Lou) who I had loved since she was 7 weeks old. My dogs are here for their lifetime to be loved, spoiled and cherished. Just because you are a "experienced breeder" doesn't give you the right to force your "ethical opinion" on anyone else. This is not a safety issue for my dogs and frankly until you are asked an opinion should be kept to yourself. Thank you again oceansoracle for proving the right kind of people (i.e. Yorkie lovers who love other yorkie lovers) are on this site and not a bunch of know it all yorkie snobs! Don't get me wrong I want the best for my babies as well but I wasn't asking in this thread for anyone's personal opinion about my breeder. I have never in my life experienced what I have today and I think that is quite sad really. This should be a place of comraderie, encouragement and friendship and maybe it is and I just got the wrong people commenting out of the gate today. Hope to meet more people like oceansoracle! |

We're actually neighbors. Is your breeder local? I like discussing fun stuff and could talk about my biewers all day long... |

You should read post #49 and try to understand other members who love the Yorkshire Terrier BREED and have been on here for a long time better :) They welcome members with mixed Yorkies with love too, but they do not care for breeders who are unethical and careless with the false information they give their buyers. |

when i first came here, i was also a little surprised at some comments made, but don't let that stop you from learning from the WEALTH of information that is here ... you may not appreciate the manner in which some posters state their opinions, but if you focus more on the information they are giving, you will find this to be an unbelievably great resource. some folks just talk about the joys of having their babies, other folks get super-duper technical (and they are super-duper knowledgeable), but you can't let that get your panties all in a bunch!!! it can sometimes be difficult to remain non-defensive when you feel you are being attacked, but please remember that, at the end of the day, we are all posting b/c we are yorkie lovers!!! so accept the info you want, receive the welcome that is being extended and ignore the rest.... |
Do you have an email address for the breeder who sold you the white yorkie? Grandmimi |
Jackson 25 you have a right to your opinion and me to mine. Go insult people on another thread! No one was asking you for your opinion and last time I checked there wasn't a President of Yorkie protection! There are no dogs in danger here and if you knew me and my breeder you would know you are preaching to the flipping choir on upholding yorkie standards. I seriously have no clue how after being so excited about finding a community of people who love their dogs the way I love mine I have ended up attacked over a techincality...maybe you should start a group for people who want stern advice and opinions and the rest of us can just enjoy sharing yorkie stories and having fun! I definitely know who to contact if I feel like I need technical advice! |
Hi there , I think your new white puppy is adorable. Congradulations for having such 3 beautiful babies. I love all yorkies , no matter mixed or not, they are fun, energetic , and so smart. Their are highly inteligent people on this board too, very educated and are all about to better the breed of the yorkie. Sorry if u felt attacked , but facts are facts. REgardless , you really have nice looking newborns. ;) |
For the last time my breeder didn't do anything unethical (the state law is that yorkies cannot be released before 8 weeks) and I wasn't and never have been given anything but the best and most honest info...NEVER false info. I was with her for several days before she released Louis to me. This is just ridiculous. |

 Goodness with the name calling! This site is to inform people of what is the good and the bad. So if you post about an unethical breeder on here she will be called out. |

Welcome, I am happy that you joined:). I must say that when I read your first post I knew that this was going to happen. I do not think that there are too many people on this site that are mean-spirited or anything I just think that they are bold people and tell it like it is. There is nothing wrong with that but sometimes people can interpret them wrong. I hope that you stay and have fun on this site there are many things to learn here. I think your babies are beautiful.:) |
I welcomed you in some of my first posts. My feelings toward the breeder you received your dogs from has no reflection as to how my feelings are for you, matter of fact, I feel very sorry for the fact the Terri has not informed you of the right information. Sorry if my posts were harsh sounding to you!:)
Quote:
In my opinion, once an apology is given, the matter (tone) should be over. Jackson 25 apologized, but for some reason, the negative tone continues. |

However, puppies born from an AKC reg parti yorkie and a German registered Biewer are still considered pure Biewer Yorkies in Germany and can be registered with the orignial clubs that register Biewers there. I will be posting pics of some parti yorkie sired Biewer pups soon. For those who want to see the difference in the Biewer to Biewer bred pups. |

as you can find on the AKC website, the YTCA is the parent club of the yorkshire terrier breed. no one is saying that your breeder did anything illegal. however, please recognize the difference between illegal and unethical (by which i think jackson25 means that it goes against the code of conduct of the YTCA) ... they are 2 different standards.... since you are great friends as a result of your experiences, maybe you could just let your friend know about this standard ... maybe she doesn't know and she and her remaining puppies could benefit from this knowledge.... just something to consider..... |

Unfortunately it's not just Jackson 25. I'm a little well a lot caught off guard by the nature and tone of many of these messages. As for what I can learn from this site, that's up to me. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and reasons for being here none of which give us the right to impose that on anyone else. Especially new people who are coming on for the first time. It's funny to me that someone just called me out on my strong tone of voice (I think the irritation is completely understandable) and not the person that started this whole thing!! Luckily tomorrow is another day. I think if I could figure out how cancel my account I would. This is just so not what I expected it to be. Again, I appreciate those of you who have been nothing but kind, encouraging, welcoming and complimentary! You are who I am choosing to focus on tonight! Getting off now and will hope for a better experience next time I'm on! |
Just talked to my breeder to verify the age she let Louis go and it was 11 weeks 6 days and Paris was 12 weeks and 3 days...proof that she is not "unethical" sad that I have to even defend that to people I don't know...wow. |

And I don't plan on telling a very successful 17 year breeder of high quality yorkies how to do her job. Friend or no friend. She has done phenomenal so far (as you can see by my dogs) and giving her my opinion would be as ridiculous as some of the opinions I've received here today... |
So anyway.... I haven't read this entire thread, because it seems to have gone off track. I'm always interested in hearing about white yorkies, because I am pretty sure that in a few years, Thor will be completely white. He started off as a black pup just like any other yorkie, even at three years old, his coat continues to lighten. When I got him at two, he had some steel blue on his shoulders, but that is now a very light blue, and his butt is basically white. I've seen on other yorkie in the flesh with the same coloring - he was completely white, with a few black streaks. I haven't seen this gene expression described anywhere on YT, so I am curious to learn more. The hair itself is beautiful, super-soft and shiny. A passerby recently described him as "luminous"! :) The OP's pups seem a little different to me, because the pup was born white, while Thor was not. |

Correction: Mixing breeds is not breeding a high quality Yorkie! :( Don't get me wrong your dogs are cute but lets get the facts straight here. |
Thanks for your interest in Paris! Thor sounds gorgeous! Her hair has the same texture! It is almost like cotton candy and swings when she walks it also is luminous!! She has the most beautiful personality! Laid back, calm, a real snuggler! Very interested to see what Napoleon will turn out like! He is as white as his mama all over so I wonder if he will stay that way! Will continue to post pictures if I can make it through today's mayhem and foolishness alive!! LOL. Look forward to talking with you again soon! |

Everyone here is trying to inform you. Just because one breeder told you something does not make it right. I had a mentor once who was really wacko, but until I talked with more folks about things I knew nothing. I thought she knew everything and was helping me. We are very passionate about our babies. I would hate for someone to read this thread and have the wrong information. That's why it is important for those with knowledge to come forth and let everyone know what they know. |
