| I NEED Sleeppp!!! Ohh my goodness I need sleep. This little guy has kepted me up so much!!! Every 2-3 hours he wakes me up and I feed him and make sure he is ok. He has been sleeping in the bed with me because if I put him in his play pen he will whine and cry. Do you think I should just make him sleep there?? The play pen is in my room but he still crys and wants to sleep in bed with me...He whines to be put down on the floor in the middle of the night because he wants to play so I do and he ends up peeing and pooping all over the floor. ANy suggestion on what I should do and if I should make him sleep in play pen of in bed with me????? |

| That's what happens when you bring a baby home at 6 wks. And he cannot be left unattended on the floor to play while you try to sleep..It is dangerous for him and irresponsible of you..He is scared and lonely and misses his mother and littermates. This is EXACTLY why you should have listened to everyones advice. I am really not sure why you are here asking for more advice when you haven't taken any you have been given so far... |

| When he gets up every 2 - 3 hours, instead of feeding him, I'd take him potty. He's still young and needs to get into a routine and the sooner you start the better. He might be whining because he feels the need to go potty. As far as sleeping on the bed, since he's very young I wouldn't let him do it . . .if the bed is very high and he decides to jump off he could get seriously injured. I'd keep him in his playpen so he can't get into anything or get hurt. Maybe you should put in a warming bottle wrapped up in a blankie so he can lay next to it . . .it'll take time and some sleepness nights . . .

| I'll just tell you what I did with my little girl when she first came home. She was 12 weeks old, but still didn't want to sleep alone. I put her in a small kennel and then put it on my bed so she could see me, but be safe. When she would wake me, I took her to a small bathroom and let her use a puddle pad and have a drink, then it was right back to the kennel. She did better with this. It wasn't long before she made it though the night. Now she sleeps with me and if she needs to use a pad, she justs walks up and down on me until I wake up and put her on the floor. She will use her pad and come back to be picked up. I hope this helps. |

| I would keep DJ off the bed until he is older and potty trained. Like some one else said he could fall of and injury himself. Also if he is pooping and peeing often it could happen in your bed. I woke up every couple of hours and took Zeus out when we first got him. He would whimper and whine for a little then fall asleep until he had to potty again. He will eventually make it through the night. Do you have anything with a heartbeat sound to keep next to him? |

Senior Yorkie Talker | My little one sleeps in a play pen downstairs by herself. In the play pen is her bed a kennel with water, and a pee pad. I usually tuck her into bed and have a ritual where I tell her to go to sleep and cover her in a blanket, put toys around her and turn on a night light and then go upstairs. I'm doing this until she's well trained well enough, then she'll be free to roam around the house. It was hard at first to listen to her cry downstairs, but her crying became less and less and she got used to it. I remember I got so little sleep the first two weeks. But she's 4 months and perfectly fine. She knows she'll see me when the sun rises. and she knows she's not going to be alone for long. They are smart and will figure it out. Just don't keep picking him up every-time he cries. I realized sometimes Lexi cries but she's just trying to get her own way. So don't make your little guy take advantage of you. He'll get over it Also I hear if you put a warm bottle beside them they'll fall asleep better. He's probably look for warmth from his litter.

| You certainly need to start some kind of potty training. Pads or outside. Peeing and pooping everywhere will just confuse the pup. Giving in to the whinning will just reinforce the behavior. Surely you knew this would require some sleepless nights. See you are back in FL. |

| DJ is only six weeks old, half the age Yorkie puppies are supposed to be when they go to their new homes. He will whine, cry, poop and pee because he is still such a tiny baby. Sleeplessness will be a way of life for quite awhile. His bladder is so tiny he probably has to urinate every half an hour or so potty training will be very challenging. Every time he potties in the wrong place, it sets potty training back because he thinks it's okay to do so. The smell will also get into your carpet so he will be attracted back to the same spots. Some people have been successful with using a little carrier with a blanket placed on a nightstand where the puppy can see them. You are still going to have to get up with him often, though. He's just so young. I would not want to be in your shoes. |

your little one shouldn't be in a playpen, but in a small kennel with a soft towel or blanket. He has got to miss his siblings and mother, so a warm water bottle and/or a ticking clock would be good for his kennel. Also, you need to be taking him out to potty every hour or two, not feeding him. I hope for his sake that you will listen now to everyone giving you advice - for your little one, it could mean life or death! You definitely need to be doing some more reading on raising the very young pups, as you have one and are responsible for his life!

| At six weeks, he should be cuddling up to mom and siblings for warmth and security, and I'm amazed your brave enough to bring him into bed with you, I'd be freaking out with how tiny he is! (afraid to squish him) Anyway, how about his? Brown Mutt Snuggle Puppie SnugglePuppie Brown Mutt Snuggle Puppy It has a heat packet to keep him warm, and is soft and furry like his siblings would be. Plus, it has a heartbeat so he won't feel alone in the ex-pen. There's different kinds so google doggles snuggle puppy, or just snuggle puppy and it will turn up with different kinds.

| I bet it is going to be another 8-12 weeks AT LEAST before you can sleep for more then 3 hours at a time. With your baby being so young and little he's got a tiny little bladder (smaller than a Lima bean) and is going to have to potty very often. If you're feeding him every 2-3 hours in the night you're also going to have to let him potty shortly after eating. You absolutely CAN NOT let him continue to potty on the carpet! It is going to make potty training much harder! It's already going to be difficult considering how young he is. Also, allowing him to sleep in your bed is probably not a good idea. He can easily get hurt if he tries to jump down, which he probably will once he works up the courage. And once he does there is no stopping him from doing it again. He needs to be kept in a small kennel. When Jax was a puppy I had a folding chair set up right next to my bed where I would set his kennel so he could see me. And do not allow him to have a lot of room in the kennel, just enough for him to sleep. With a lot of space he will end up going potty in his kennel which is also a no no.
