As mine got older (my SONS not yorkies) we used to have slumber parties....it was like a special night to sleep in moms bed - we'd stay up and watch wrestling and eat popcorn in bed. THOSE were the days !

They Did not do any shots because he already got 2 sets of shots and I will get him his third in 3 weeks. And yes, of course he has teeth LOL they said if you dont start nhohw brushing his teeth then when he gets older he will never let you so its good to start now...so I can def see where they are coming from. They told me I should bursh then EVERYDAY. The vet did not confirm that he was 6 weeks. He is now 7 weeks but if you say he looks older then that will be ok with me. And yes that is DJ in my picture. Hope that answered all your questions...

| ![]() That's what I was thinking! I'm getting my puppy in 2 weeks, she'll be 12 weeks old and will only have ONE set of shots. My vet told me they get their first set at TEN weeks old, and then 2 more sets, 4 weeks apart. Sooo many things sure aren't adding up here. Even IF shots are given at different age intervals, I have never, ever heard of a 7 week old Yorkie having 2 sets already.

![]() Also, I am a foster mom and had a little guy once that we were told was 12 weeks old. When I took him to the vet I was told that he was closer to 5 or 6 weeks old because his teeth were just starting to come in. The reason that I asked you about the picture in your avatar is that DJ looks much older than the 6 weeks that you have been told. So really what you are showing me and saying is that obviously this puppy is not 6 to 7 weeks old like you were told. DJ must be at least several weeks older than you think that he is. A vet can tell a lot just by looking at a dogs teeth and in particular how old they by the size, eruption of puppy or adult teeth, how mush tartar has accumulated on an adult dog teeth, and finally how worn they are when they become adults and finally seniors. So as you can see this was not a funny question but very legitimate and as you have stated in other threads he is from a shady breeder. It would not be unheard of for a breeder not to be truthful about the age of a puppy.

| ![]() This puppy should just be beginning his vaccinations in three weeks, not completing them. Puppies get immunities from their mother through nursing which attack and kill the viruses in the vaccinations if given too soon. In one study of a cross section of different puppies the age at which they were able to respond to a vaccine and develop protection covered a wide period of time. At six weeks of age, 25% of the puppies could be immunized. At 9 weeks of age, 40% of the puppies were able to respond to the vaccine. The number increased to 60% by 16 weeks, and by 18 weeks of age, 95% of the puppies could be immunized. Parvovirus: Serious Diarrhea in Puppies & Dogs This is the vaccination protocol that has been adopted by most vet schools. 9-10 weeks is the recommended age to start vaccinations. | ![]() Linus cried every couple of hours the first couple of nights that I had him in his expen, but then I moved him to a carpeted room, covered the floor with a plastic tablecloth and adjusted the expen so it's only big enough for his bed, his water dish, and a pee pad. The first night I slept in the room with him, with the TV on. The second night, I slept in the room with him (with the TV on) for about an hour, then moved to my bedroom. Now, he sleeps just fine in there by himself (with the TV on). It was really the carpeted room that made the biggest difference. The other big difference was my belief in tough love. He might cry and whine, but eventually he'll calm down and fall asleep. If he really doesn't stop, don't go in and pick him up, that's only reinforcing the bad behavior. Instead, sit several feet away and talk to him with a really calm voice until he calms down a little bit and realizes that he's not in any danger, you're just in the next room. Bully sticks are also really helpful! |

My guess he got neopar at 4 weeks and then a combo shot at 6 weeks before he was illegally flown. My Pennie got her first puppy shot at 7 weeks and she couldn't have another one until she was 14 weeks because she had been so sick. My vet said as long as they have at least 2 vaccines by 14 weeks they will be fine. So we never got the third, Normally I recommend 3 vaccinations by 14 weeks and that is what I give my own as well.. Then I give a booster at a year and no more for 2 years. They say 3 years is fine, but I don't trust that 100% yet so I compromise and do it every 2. ![]()

But personally, I cannot tell a thing about your pup by his picture. I can barely see him because it is such a tiny picture. I would really love to see more pictures of your pup.. Start an album ![]()
