| Scratch how to treat Lexi has what it looks to be like rugburn or a skin irriation on her belly by her hind legs. However, the skin is not broken. I am going to clean it with peroxide but then can i put neosporin on it or NO bc she might lick it? Just wanted to know what you do in such a case, I just want it to heal as fast as possible so it doesn't bother her or get infected. thanks

| I think it would be fine. My vet told me to rub a small amount of neosporin on Tori's tummy. She had a skin irritation and now it is gone...

| I would go ahead with the neosporin. I never used it on Princess, but I did on Poncho. I used it for three day on a scrach he had, on the fourth day it was just about gone. Sending Lexi hugs. (((((((Lexi)))))))

| I hope Lexi's boo-boo feels better soon. The Neosporin should be just fine to use on her. And I had "visuals" on how possibly Lexi could get a rug burn on her belly?? ... Doing the army crawl or something, hee he But seriously, I do hope Lexi feels better soon.

It sounds like Neosporin has worked for others, but if your interested there is also a homeopathic cream called Rescue Remedy that works wonders. I've used it (on myself) for years, and have been seeing it in the pet stores lately. Should be very safe AND I can personally attest to its effectiveness.
