Scratch how to treat
 
:confused: Lexi has what it looks to be like rugburn or a skin irriation on her belly by her hind legs. However, the skin is not broken. I am going to clean it with peroxide but then can i put neosporin on it or NO bc she might lick it? Just wanted to know what you do in such a case, I just want it to heal as fast as possible so it doesn't bother her or get infected.

I think it would be fine. My vet told me to rub a small amount of neosporin on Tori's tummy. She had a skin irritation and now it is gone...

Yes I think it would be fine to use a small amount. Our Babies and their boo boos. we can hurt our selfs with cuts and burns but yet are babies get hurt and we go crazy huh. Thats just the good mommy in us. I can tell your such a great mommy. :)

i freak out when the littlest thing is wrong with her, you should ask my husband. I thought i could but i was afraid of her licking the neosporin off and getting sick, thank you.
just a little scrape but to me it mide as well me a lost limb, i am such a worrier.

I would go ahead with the neosporin.
I never used it on Princess, but I did
on Poncho. I used it for three day on a scrach he
had, on the fourth day it was just about gone.

I put neosporin on my dogs incisions when they were spayed/neutered.

I hope Lexi's boo-boo feels better soon. The Neosporin should be just fine to use on her.

And I had "visuals" on how possibly Lexi could get a rug burn on her belly?? ... Doing the army crawl or something, hee he :D

But seriously, I do hope Lexi feels better soon.

LOL - Dublin does the 'army crawl' first thing every morning when he gets outta' bed!!! I think its the cutest thing but never had a name for it!

It sounds like Neosporin has worked for others, but if your interested there is also a homeopathic cream called Rescue Remedy that works wonders.

I've used it (on myself) for years, and have been seeing it in the pet stores lately. Should be very safe AND I can personally attest to its effectiveness.
