Sorry, after reading further into the thread I have to take what I said back. It sounds though like you are doing all your research to do this right. Good luck finding the right baby for your family!

I agree I paid 1500 for my dog! lol I always say if it is too good to be true it probably is. I would go see the dogs before I even thought about purchasing. Ask to see the parents of the dog look at the home they are brought up in kennels vs a home. All these things are important and don't be afraid to ask questions. health gaurentee and etc. good luck

as for the older dog I would ask if it has any health issues.

In parts of the country, breeders are happy to get $400, for a dog. Millers often make less per dog. That's why lots of people sell on Yorkietalk, even with the added expense of shipping they can make money. Remember to many people, once they have their breeding pair, anything they make is a profit.

wow! you have a big choice, the 8 month old is a good choice you don't have to go thru most of that puppy stage, however, me personally would take the puppies and enjoy training them they way you want, mine is already learning tricks and has 5 already at 6 months. so i would take the puppie, choice girl boy me i like my boy! they are so cute meet the babies and see who you like, it will come to you, good luck.

I tried to explain to her that they could be sick or not cared for properly because they are so cheap. He did their worming & shots & said the vet did their dew claws & tail but he didn't tell me that until I asked about it???? He is an older man & seemed very nice & very "country" I actually like the southern sweetness we have here so that didn't bother me that much. He knew every answer to every question without hestitation...How do I know he is not a byb or that they do not live in clean conditions? I am attaching a pic of each of the two boys for yall to see, let me know if you think the female puppy from above or one of these looks like a healthier puppy to you...... I promise this is it, I will not post anymore. The next you will see is our new puppy with my family!!!

I don't blame you for being concerned! The cheap price would give me great pause as well! There is that saying "The cheap comes out expensive."
A reputable breeder would not be offering only a 48 hour guarantee!
I see they are CKC not AKC which isn't considered a reputable organization by many!
A reputable breeder would be keeping them until 12 weeks, do the proper vaccines, etc..
I wouldn't purchase any puppy without seeing where they live, the parents...

If you have apprehensions why not make an appt. with a vet in the area and have him look her over. If everything is above board the current owner shouldn't have a problem with that. Leave her something of value that you most definitely want back. If she objects.. something may not be quite right.

If things don't work out with this one.. for sure keep searching. Buying my little sweetie is one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Thanks for answering my question about the first doggie. I'm feeling more comfortable now. When you go see a new puppy ask to see the mom and dad, too. The parents could be giants and you could find yourself in the same position as you found yourself the first time around.

I will say this was a lot harder than I ever imagined & took many hours of research but it was worth it! We went to see the 8wk old female Tues night & my granny went with us (she donated $200 towards Jordyns pup). It was an awful experience! They were rude & their home was stinky, not to mention unethical! My daughter held the puppy for about 15mins while I played investigator asking my list of questions then when I asked about a health guarantee...she said "I don't do those because if one of your kids drop the puppy & kill it then I would have to replace the dog!" Can you believe she said that in front of my girls? I realized then she was an idiot, I told her it was to get her vet checked immediately for health concerns that the puppy would have had now! She still refused & kept saying to her teenage daughter that it was up to her since she was the one selling it? When I told her 8wks was to young she argued with me & said you shouldn't keep one after 8wks because then they are too old to bond! I told her I had researched everything & that was incorrect but whatever. Jordyn wanted the puppy soo bad so I said ok (Im not sure why?) I guess it was BOTH of their puppy dog faces! lol So I counted $400 cash & they said "No its $500, that was a weekend special that ended yesterday" As if I had not had enough reasons to RUN before this happened.... I said that is incorrect because the post was still up when I talked to you to get directions this afternoon....meanwhile she is on her laptop the whole time & obviously changing the ad on LSN... I said I'm sorry I can get a puppy with a health guarantee & do business with some nicer! How these people were & I was right, when we got to my granny's I pulled up the website & she had just posted a new ad listing the $500 price (while we were there according to the posting time).
Now for the good part....I will post in a new one so I can add pictures of our new baby boy!!!!!!!

Oh dear, what an ordeal for you.

The lady was the scum of the scum. However, I very well understand your problem since you had your girls with you. But, your very first mistake was even going there in the first place, not trusting your gut instincts.

I pray your boy is fine....and he gives you many years of happiness.
