Glad she's doing better and I hope they can find a great home for her. From what I've read this is a reoccuring problems, and some dogs start making stones as soon as the old ones are removed. Do you know what the approximate cost of this surgery? I just responded. Since the rescue took care of the bill, i don't know exactly how much it came to, but they did xrays, blood work, a biopsy for the growth in the bladder, and stayed several days (wed to sat) and the surgery itself, I'm sure it was over $1000 for everything (est surgery only $800).

I have been keeping up with this thread since you first posted it and I am soooo glad that she is doing better. She is adorable and deserves to be healthy and happy!

The size of those stones ! It's hard to see those and not be angry. She must feel so much better already.

Yes it is infuriating to see those things and think that someone thought that she was ok still! I just looked at her old records and she was born in 2004 making her 6 yrs old not 3 yrs old as what they told us. So I wonder now if it had been more than one yr that this poor baby had to deal with the problem! The vet said the size of those stones were from a very very very long time!

Not only that, but the long time irritation of the bladder makes her much more succepitcal to bladder cancer in the future, another really painful problem.

Unbelievable! That poor lil girl. She will be so much more comfortable in a couple of weeks or so. She is just precious.

What a precious baby. Who is it you signed up with to foster? I am fostering a little cocker that I saw in a shelter here. I finally got a rescue to pull her before they euthanized her. On her bio from the shelter that had written that she might be dog aggressive and I think that turned people off. She was suppose to be around 6 mos old but she is probably more like 4 yrs and she has juvenile cateracts. She is such a sweet dog. She does bark at my yorkies and I'm afraid to put them together but she gets along with my two big dogs. I hope someone with a big heart will take a dog that already had cateracts. When she does find a home I want to foster the little guys.

She sleeps through the whole night, and is trying to play already. Trying to jump, so I have to make her use stairs. She already stole a few of Uni's toys. uni's not a happy camper! But she's giving her her space bc I think Uni knows she is recovering.
