Meet our new foster yorkie Katie! 3 Attachment(s) If you haven't heard yet, I am now a part of YTNR! Thanks to Adi-and-Missy for telling me all about them. I picked up a 3 yr old girl named Katie last night who was an owner surrender. Katie has bladder stones and her owner could not afford to properly take care of the problem. She had them for over a year. :( She was peeing blood all over the place, it broke my heart. I made her a little makeshift diaper, which she didn't mind wearing. Uni was actually happy and wanted to play, but since katie is not feeling well, obviously she did not want to play. I am thinking of calling her Keichi, to match Uni's japanese name. I looked up the translation for Katie and ke-i-chi came up, and it means "change will cure" what a surprise! I brought her to the hospital this morning. They xrayed and found 5 stones. She is on IVs now and they did bloodwork today. Surgery will come tomorrow morning. She really needed medical attention asap. i'm so glad she will be getting it tomorrow morning. Please keep her in your thoughts for a successful surgery! A few pics. She was really tired last night! She's overweight, so after she gets better we need to get those extra pounds off of her. |
That's awful that she was allowed to go that long without help. I'm happy that you're taking care of her. She's cute as a button. Will be praying for the little doll to do well in surgery. |
She's such a cutie!! Imagine how pretty she'll look when you work your magic!? :) I really am so glad you have her now!! :) |
Little girl will be in my prayers. Thank you for fostering her, she needed the tender loving care you're giving her. :) |
im happy that you can help her. i hope all goes well and she will be in my thoughts |
She is a cutie! :) |
I'll be thinking of her tomorrow, I hope the surgery goes well. There is such a need for foster homes right now, you are doing a wonderful thing, but I don't need to tell you that. ;) I have only been fostering since August 2009, so I am a newbie at it as well, I'm sure you have LOTS of support but if you ever want to chat or have any questions I can help with let me know! I adopted my first foster back in December! I could not let her go, I have to say one of the most rewarding things I have ever done is decide to be a foster mom. |
Awwwwwww bless you for taking her in...I will be thinking and praying for her speedy recovery... |
Keichi is so cute, but poor thing, her face says it all. I can't wait till my day comes and I am able to give back to the yorkie community like you are doing. :D |
aww what a cutie...will be thinking of her tomorrow and I know all will go well and she will be good as new.. |
aww...poor little thing! That is so good of you to open your home to foster - I applaud you! My husband and I are buying a house and want to foster once we get settled, and hopefully we will get to also! Sorry, didn't mean to steal your thunder...She is such a little cutie, I'm sure you will give her a much better chance at life! Good for you! |
Such a beautiful girl. Glad she's going to a good home. =] |

Keichi is so cute. Thank you for having such a kind heart and taking in that sweet little girl. I will be thinking positive thoughts for her today during her surgery. I hope for a quick recovery so she and Uni can have some fun playtime. |
