It really is. People who pass judgements on how rescues place their pups should spend some time involved in rescue....most specifically involved in reading the applications and doing vet checks. My years in rescue have given me an education for sure.

Yeah, but when you buy a dog, you won't be using your Yorkietalk name. Lists are great for some things, but sometimes they give us a false sense of security.

A banned member isn't allowed back, but sometimes come back under a new name; a suspended member is just given a "time out". If you have too many suspensions, you are banned.

No, admin doesn't even know member's real names. The breeders have to use their real names when they advertise in the classified section.

Not always...there are ways to use fake IP servers ..

Sadly, too many people are not who they say they are on the internet...It is so easy to fool people and "say" all the right things. In fact places like YT teaches BYB's how to say the right thing to sell their dogs, it shows people how to lie in their search for pets, it makes all sort of unethical people get away with their lies...

I really am sorry a lot of things have been said because it makes it even harder to figure these awful people out.

WOW! I learn something new every day. I would not have thought of that because it would seem that they would use that for some big time scamming, but a scammer is a scammer, big or small.

I have logged into people's computers all over the world....with permission of course. All it takes is for someone to give you access. You cannot always tell where a person is...that is why it takes so long sometimes for the authorities to trace things.

My breeder/mentor absolutely abhors computers/internet. In her words it has done nothing good for the breed. As you say.....so many public forums have taught many to talk the talk, without having to walk the walk.

What it has done is made some breeders a bit more cautious......That's why you have the stringent contracts, breeders not shipping puppies, breeder's doing home checks......it needs to be a two way street....up close and personal

If I'm not mistaken you can even purchase programs like GoToMyPC and they allow you to access another computer from any computer. My husband had this program so he could access his work computer from home office.

You don't have to purchase anything if someone gives you access. It is as simple as having a login and password.

Then, there are people who hack computers and use them. You just never know for sure who is sitting on the other side of a computer screen.
