It breaks my heart to hear this sad news. try to stay strong for your little one. there are lots of people on here praying along with you and for you & your Matsie. |
I'm so sorry you are going through this. There was an excellent post on here a while back about someone who's dog had the surgery and was great. I'll try to find it, but if I can't, do a search. It will make you feel better! |
Can't figure out how to do link Ok, I can't figure out how to link the thread to here, but it is called Liver Shunt Success Story and it was posted on June 6, 2005. If someone can do a link onto here that would be great. You need to read this! |
God bless you girl! Just let it all out. That's what we're here for and it's healing. Find the best vet possible and know that Matise will come through the surgery just fine. We're praying for you! |

i am the one that posted the liver shunt success story...i am trying to attach a link to it...hope it works. but to make a long story short, my little max was diagnosed with a liver shunt when he was 4 months old. he was having the seizures too. we had the surgery a few days after the diagnosis and now 5 months later he is a normal happy puppy! i know how scary it is to be going through this. please let me know if i can answer any questions for you! also, these websited will be very helpful. www.livershunt.com and www.tsfannymaelivershunt.com. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...+success+story |
I am so sorry to hear about your baby. My yorkie, Miko, also was diagnosed with a liver shunt...I was a complete basketcase, crying all the time and worried to death waiting for results...I would wake up every five minutes and check on him during the night afraid that he would have a seizure while I was sleeping. This went on for weeks. I must tell you though, that this only made Miko more depressed...These little ones can sense when something is wrong, and we have to be strong for them even though it's so hard to do. We made sure to give him extra attention and we cuddled with him all the time. Anyway, his liver shunt was not found, but he's healthier than ever now...he's on a liver supplement (denosyl), lactulose, and royal canin veterinary hepatic diet. The vet told me that he will live a normal life aside from the daily medications...The only thing I care about is that he is healthy, and he is! It's wonderful :) There is a whole lot more to this story and a lot more things that happened with Miko that I didn't post, but it would have made this post too long...Let me know if you want more details, and I'll post it. Keep your chin up and be strong for your baby! We'll pray for you and your baby. If you need to talk, we're here for you. |
Sending a big hug your way! You are in my thoughts and prayers.... I am so sorry to hear about your baby. |
Oh my !! Don't give up hope !! My heart is with you, I can only imagine what you must be going through and how painful it must be. But, you keep going and do what you have to do for your baby. I will say a prayer for you and Matise. |
Sending lots of prayers and hugs your way..I hope everything goes as well as possible for you and Matise |
I am sorry about your little one and sorry you are going through this. I ve read so many success stories of the surgery. Just keep the hope. |
I think I remember asking the breeders about this and having labs run when I checked my puppies our for health reasons, but that's water under the bridge anyway. I had someone tell me yesterday that a sad event happened to her and she literally felt her heart hurt. You have many, many hearts hurting for your little one but as you also have read, there are success stories as well. So, here's my wishing a success story for you and I'll keep your little one in my prayers. |
has anybody heard from matise? poor little guy i hope everything is going to be ok |

Matisse will be a fighter just like the rest of these wondrous babies. Lets all pray for good docs with great hands and the creator will direct them to the exact spot to be fixed.. |
