Luvs Lulu Donating Member | HELP!!! Bubbles seems to dislike my husband.... I am not sure what to do about her. Let me preface this by saying hubby is an animal lover and has yet to even look cross eyed at her..even when she peed under his desk and he stepped on it. I have no idea and am at my wits end as to why she growls at him, when he comes into the room she barks at him and generally refuses to cuddle with him unless he is asleep. She sleeps on the bed with us and I swear when he gets in she goes as far away as she can from him. Then when I get up in the morning and getting ready for work she will sneak up and cuddle near him to stay toasty. I have no idea why she is like that with him. She is also a bit wary of other men that come to the house. She loves all the crazy children in our family. Anyone have any suggestions?

| My first suggestion would be to try and let your husband do all the positive things in her life. Your husband can be the one who gives her her food, her treats, takes her for walks, plays with her... try that at first where he does most of the fun stuff (if he's willing to). She should eventually learn that he is a positive thing in her life.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | We have she is just anti-men it seems. If he offers her a treat she just watches him until he give up and puts it down. Then slowly she will run and snatch it and go eat it. He loves to sneak up and grab her and kiss and cuddle her. I guess maybe that will be their relationship.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Carol she has been with us since September. Kid at hubby's job got her for his girl. They broke up and she didn't want the dog. He didn't want her. He asked us to rehome her. She just ended up staying here. She is very sweet. Hubby has been saying she seems like a lulu reincarnate. She is now 10 months old. Very sweet pup.

| Perhaps the man was not very nice to her? Sounds like a trust issue. In time, she may change once she learns that your hubby is not going to hurt her.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | She definitely has some trust issues. She still takes forever to take a snack from my hand. Hubby doesn't care he keeps forcing hugs and kisses on her. She can do no wrong for him... She is very sweet. She is currently cuddled up with my son who is laying here sick. He was dreaming and telling her he loves her.

| Sometimes they get past these issues and sometimes not. That is so nice that your hubby loves her so much and is patient with her. Hopefully, she will soon learn he is a friend.

| I hope in time she'll come around. I think it's great that your hubby is determined not to give up and continues to love on her. She's a lucky little girl. I think she was mistreated by a male at somepoint in her young life. Let him be the source for her treats for awhile. That should help her come around to him. Good luck with that Beth, I'll check in with you down the road and see how it's going. |

Oh...and one other thing. I would advise him not to sneak up on her and grab her. Even though he is loving on her, this may be frightening her more. Suggest that he sit on the floor and let her come to him in her own time.....even if he has to use a treat to get her there.

Is there any treat she can't refuse? Like freshly cooked chicken or PB? Have your husband sit with it in his hand until she can't refuse anymore. | |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | No such thing..he is forever sneaking her little pieces of grilled meat or veggies to get her to come to him. She waits him out. Eventually he will put it down. The other day I caught him giving her about a tea spoon of chicken and dumplings with white rice. I got on him about giving her table foods. But I know in his hope to win her over he will keep sneaking her stuff. She took forever to take it but she did give in as it smelled too good to turn down. She took a big smacking mouth full off of the the spoon and backed away from her.
