omg, omg,omg she got out Roxy needed out so I put her in our backyard. (totally fenced with lock on back gate and double gate on one side, secure gate with another lock on other side of our yard. Ran to washroom for a minute, went to let her in..no Roxy! Panic!! I grabbed a coat went out and called and called ..nothing (we have large hawks and even seen bald eagles and owls in our area ) I am ready to have a break down and I hear scratch , whimper, scratch...and there is Roxy on the opposite side of the gate. Let her in, checek her over and she is fine. Bouncing all around. Gave her more hugs, check again..bring her in and gave her a treat for coming home. I am shaking like a leaf. I thought our yard was puppy proof. I had hubby do a fence check on the weekend. I just called him..he is doing another one when he gets home. Omg..I am so relieved she is ok. I don't drink ..but I could use one now..

| So glad she is safe. This is exactly my fear with letting my boys out alone. Our yard seems very secure, but they are so small I'm afraid they could scoot under somewhere. I just ordered 2 large x pens for the yard (will hook together), that way we can put it close to the back door/windows in view and still let them have some fun. Try and relax...take care.

That's terrifying! Bilbo will get out at my parent's house between the gate and the fence post. He's gotten smart enough and strong enough to knock over the chunk of firewood we use to block the hole, but he just runs around the house and scratches on the front door. He has also dug under the wooden fence at home to get to the neighbor's (BIG) dogs. He just wants to play, but I'm scared when he does it. When the ground thaws, I'll have my husband dig a trench around the fence and bury some chicken wire to keep him from digging under the fence.

Thanks..yes.. I am afraid of her getting out of the yard again. We are pretty diligent about the fences/gates ...I am wondering if someone new came to read the meters and tried to come in the one side. We still have alot of snow and leave it piled around the perimeter out back just to dissuade that happening. They can get in the other side where there is a double gate and read the meters. I do have two xpens -4 feet tall. In the spring I could use them when I cannot be out with them (I have a tiny female minpin, Mystique, too). I think this scare gave me about a thousand new grey hairs! I am just glad she is okey..scared the bejeebers outta me lol

This is the second one I have read about this morning. My Joey went missing for 3 hours Thursday afternoon. And yea, I had two bloody marys after getting him settled down. My husband made them for me, he knew it was going to be a long time before I calmed down. I am glad this story like the other one had a happy ending, She had to go all throught the night, but the person that picked her up saw her sign for the missing dog. GLad to hear she is safe and at home. Sharon
