| You are a great mom! I don't know why people get so upset when dogs or puppies are put into a pen when you can't watch them. I always ask these people, well, would you let a toddler run around the house unsuppervised? NO, you would put them in a play pen if you had to leave the room. Our furbabies are the same. They can get into stuff and get hurt, so if you can't watch them, then putting them some place safe is our responsiblilty. |

| Absolutely not a bad mom!! Like everyone else already said, you're just responsible. That's 1000x better than not.

| Your great at what you are doing to protect your little one. While we are at work or go out for a few hours. We put up a gate to block her from the stairways. She has free roam of our livingroom, dining room and kitchen. She also has her crate with a blanket in it and she curl up an goes to sleep in it. If my grandchild and family are over we do but her in a smaller area that is 8 ft by 4 ft and give her food and water. She is safer that way.

| If you are a bad mommie than so am I! Gunnar is 1&1/2 yo this month and still very mischievous! We put him in a 4x4 pen with a top and a (solid) bottom. Everything he needs is in there. At 4 months, he was able to escape the ex-pen, so we had to go to the all around wire pen. He is cosy in there with his new sack from Chattiesmom!

| You do the right thing, they don't understand the danger, they might get into trouble if you let them roam freely while you're not at home. I put Sugar in crate whenever I go out, I live in an apartment with 2 balcony, I wouldn't want to imagine what could happen if she runs freely in the house when I'm not at home!

| a great mom, Gatsby is a wonderful dog and he will not potty in the house tear up anything or run around like a psycho but if i am going to be gone for more then 45 min i lock him in the bathroom (i even talked to my neighbor and if the fire alarm goes off they know which window to go to to save him my other 4 are in different parts of the house (with access to rescue) think of all the horrible things that could happen while your not home and then put them out of your mind because you protect your baby

| NO! You are in no way a bad mom! You care about what happens to your baby when you arent home. They are really curious little dogs and who knows what could happen to them if you let them roam free without super vision.

| Hi...Well we bought "Dustie" a pen when we brought him home...It is just over 18" wide by 26" long..with a top and door etc. and his bed fits n icely in there...Although he has grown a little...he still sleeps in there in his furry bed..goes in there when we leave the house...and when we need him to be out of harms way and safe...As I am at home mostly he isn't in there that often..but he never seems to mind.. and gets treats before and after he comes out..I don't think he will grow any more so this size should be o.k. I never had a bought Pen for m y other Yorkies...we cornered the kitchen off..but they used to jump out etc...This pen is much better... I for one am glad I have one...We also take it with us on our Caravan Hols too...which is great..and keeps him safe too. Don't worry about what other folk say...as long as your pup seems o.k. and not too stressed...and you will know that if you pen him up for short times while you are at home and see how he behaves.. i.e. pen him..leave the room for a while and see if he barks or cries..then you will know. | Animal like very small burrow - animal never like be alone by self. I am put him in only when very tired. Animal never knows you are saving from electric cord! Only sad becuase by self, this is lonely. If can put cat in also and one sweter and kiss and sing for him very nice song. I am singing song for baby aijā žūžū lāča bērni and velc, pelīte, saldu miegu mazajami bērniņam means sleep like mouse quiet to never wake cat. Then dog know time is to sleep. |

| I never leave my dogs to "roam free" in the house if I'm not there to supervise them. Matty goes in her crate and the two 6 month old puppies go in the X-pen. Kalina sleeps in my bed until I return but Kalina is also a bigger dog and very well trained, so I'm pretty sure she's not going to choke on something or get in trouble.

| YT 500 Club Member | I agree with every-one else, my two were always crated as pups when we went out or at night or if people were around as some just dont think and will go into rooms without thinking to shut them behind. HOw many people have lost pets because some visitor forgot to close doors or gates. Now that there older they're shut in the kitchen when we go out as theres no exposed wires or other things they can get into, they'll even go in there to lie on their bed while were here. |

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Remember that everything is relative, a small yorkie staying in a 4 foot square x-pen all day, is like an average size human staying in room 24x24 foot room all day, not so horrible, especially if there's food and entertainment. It's all those cubicle workers I feel sorry for.

| Oh yeah...count me in on the safety team. My daughter thinks I am a big meanie. I also put Frankie in his crate when company is around. We have big clumsy men around sometimes who would just as soon step on him than let him pass or get out of the way. Frankie also likes to cuddle up on top of the feet of sitting guests (if he likes them). Can you imagine the disaster, if they didn't look before they got up. Guests often sneak food to dogs that is forbidden. Hate that! While my buddy is well behaved, I have to admit, I hate going to another's house and a smelly, slobbering dog is drooling all over me as I attempt to balance the snacks and a drink. Don't you think it is bad manners to invite friends over and expect them to put up with ill behaved pets?
